10.23.15 | props dude, some really good picks here. I'm also a fan of the "epic metal ballad" like 1, 3, 5, 8, 14. Have you heard "Love to Love" by UFO? |

10.23.15 | Friday13th@ Thanks! My plan is to buy the The Complete Albums Collection with UFO soon. I haven't heard a lot of songs by them but I'm the type of guy who doesn't listen to anything which isn't bought physically, so when I have money enough I will buy it ;) |

10.23.15 | ah dude! Well let me tell you it's a 5 star track. That's pretty amazing if you physically own all this stuff. |

10.23.15 | I own 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 10, 11, 14, 16, 19, 23, 24, 25, 29 on vinyl and the rest on CDs |

10.23.15 | @Ben awesome! But wait, how did you discover them before buying? |

10.23.15 | I have the US version that got released in 1975. It includes the very poppy track called "Our World is a Rock 'n' Roll Band." I bought it on Amazon and got a sealed version and considering that the album hasn't been reissued on vinyl since 1975 it was quite a scoop. I paid like 60 Euro for it. |

10.23.15 | I'm more asking like how you got into this kind of music if you're not sampling online. |

10.23.15 | Friday13th@ I read about the bands and listen very quickly to one of their numbers on Itunes or Spotify like a teaser or something. If their sound gets it's hooks on me I will definitely buy one of or all their albums. Sometimes if a band doesn't do anything for me on a small listen I will sometimes go back and take a quick listen again and see if my opinion has changed. Sure I can't prevent that I'm going to a party and several songs I don't know about is played, but for the most I'm pretty drunk anyway at parties and can't remember any song the day after lol. The reason why I'm buying my music in physical form is that I get a kind of.. it's like an accomplishment! |

10.23.15 | okay gotcha. I know there are some lucky dudes who have dads that have been jamming this stuff before they were born. My dad had a few great stuff like Yes and Deep Purple he would play for me, so I didn't need the internet in those cases. |

10.23.15 | Friday13th@ At first I played Battlefield: Vietnam when I was younger and got into Anti war songs. Then I discovered soundtracks from 28 Days Later, Quentin Tarantino, Robert Rodriguez and Martin Scorsese movies. One day I saw Apocalypse Now (I was quite a movie freak before I became a Music freak) and heard The End by The Doors. The Doors changed my view on music and their music became kind of religious to me when I was like 15-16. Then later I discovered Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple and Black Sabbath and wanted to dig deeper in the 70s hard rock music and discovered Lucifer's Friend. Nowadays I'm a doom metalhead! |

10.23.15 | Dude, great list, also love the LF picture, very interesting selections, I have most everything on vinyl and spin regularly, also do not have 2, but want to look before I just shell out the dough for one on ebay or something, that is the best way to find this kind of stuff, looking for things at the goodwill or rummage sales, found some killer stuff at rummage sale prices, also lets you experiment with things that look cool but you are unaware of, Just need to check the coolness factor, which are year made, picture of the band, name of the songs, that is how I found Captian beyond, LF, uriah heep, and many others |
