12.21.15 | 100% electronica is straight up synthwave dude, its not vaporwave or chillwave, the aesthetics and methods of those later two do not correlate with how he made that album. its 100% synthwave aesthetic. vaporwave and chillwave both are heavy on sampling and vaporwave is an ironic and disdainful take on 80's pop culture while synthwave expresses nostalgia for it. and chillwave is more streamlined and lowkey. 100% electronica is nostalgic and inspired by lots of 80's film/soundtrack stuff, plus has heavy nu wave/synth pop vocal inspiration which synthwave is derived from and he doesnt use samples on the album. synthwave.
but really good list regardless i will be checking a lot of these |
