08.01.16 | great taste as usual, I just picked up Budgie/ Britania vinyl haven't got to hear it yet. What do you think of the Lucifer's Friend album, I think it is one of their weakest |

08.03.16 | I think side one is quite weak except for Blind Freedom. I like Mary's Breakdown on side two and love Lonely City Days and Song for Louie. I appreciate all of the Lucifer's Friend releases of the 70s.
"If I were Brittania I'd Wave the Rules" is not as bad as most people make it out to be. It's quite weaker than their first five albums. It's not their light funk influences that doesn't click with me. The songwriting just seems a little uninspired here and there. I had hoped for a little more of the funky moments like "Who do You want for Your Love" from Bandolier on this album (Bandolier is my favorite Budgie record). On Britannia I dig the t/t and Black Velvet Stallion. The rest will probably grow on me. |
