Fav. Guitar Tones

Just a random list of guitar tones that I find to be...well...delicious
1Between The Buried And Me
Selkies: The Endless Obsession

BTBAM has always had some pretty sweet tones, but just the way everything comes together in this song just makes it that much better. Plus, the arpeggio section at the end, basically the smoothest solo tone I've heard in a long time.
2The Fall Of Troy
Ex-creations

I've always been a huge fan of Erak's tone, but the pinch harmonics and natural harmonics just sound lovely. Honestly, the song was one of the main reasons I decided to get an Orange.
3The Sound Of Animals Fighting
Act I: Chasing Suns

Normally, the tone of a strat kind of gets on my nerves, but there's just something about the way it meshes with the song, its almost flawless. Especially the second solo section.
4UnderOath
In Regards To Myself

What can I say, its heavy as ****
5Tera Melos
Last Smile For Jaron

In my opinion, they found the perfect clean tone to fit their insanely technical tapping. Plus there's that lovely harmonic section in the middle.
6Johnny Truant
The Bloodening

Again, just heavy as ****
7Sigur Ros
Saeglopur

Just that swelling of noise during the buildup. Best use of a cello bow with a guitar in...well...ever (bring on the "how dare you exclude Jimmy Page" comments"
8Fear Before The March Of Flames
Drowning The Old Hag

Honestly one of the thickest guitar tones I've ever heard. Hooray for Hagstrom!
9Killswitch Engage
pretty much anything

Just simply a great metalcore guitar tone. Plus Adam D. helped design their stomp boxes, which is pretty cool IMO.
10Coheed And Cambria
Neverender

I don't know what it is about that tone, there's just this edge to it that I've never really come across anywhere else. Plus, the clean tones aren't half bad either.
11Buckethead
Big Sur Moon

There's just something about an acoustic coupled with a spacey delay...
12Explosions In The Sky
Birth and Death of the Day

Lovely clean tones, and that spacey/echoey guitar line in the intro sounds spectacular.
13The Yeah Yeah Yeahs
Maps

The cleans with delay are pretty decent, but something about the way the distortion kicks in just does it for me.
14The Dillinger Escape Plan
Sugar Coated Sour/43% Burnt

Just the shear rawness and intensity of it, and the free jazz (ish) break in 43% Burnt has some interesting clean tones.
15Led Zeppelin
The Ocean

Might seem a bit out of place but if you listen closely, the tone is really interesting. I'm pretty sure Jimmy Page uses some kind of coil tap/odd pickup wiring to get the tone to sound out of phase and (pleasantly) nasal. Sort of like the pop of a stratocaster with the richness of a Les Paul. Classic
