Storm In A Teacup
10.08.16 | hope this happens but not much I can do if it doesn't lol |
ConcubinaryCode
10.08.16 | Not too bad. I prefer the soundtrack to the actual game. |
Drifter
10.08.16 | 4.8 but not NEARLY as good as ODST's OST. One of the few albums I'd give a perfect 5 |
Storm In A Teacup
10.08.16 | Thank you guys! And yes ODST was so awesome. |
Eakflanderyof
10.08.16 | Halo 1-3 all had amazing soundtracks |
TheSpaceMan
10.08.16 | Halo 2 > Halo 3 > Halo CE = ODST |
Storm In A Teacup
10.08.16 | are you ranking games or soundtracks |
Drifter
10.08.16 | I know it's a very unpopular opinion that post H3 was good on here, but I think the series peaked on Reach. It's no doubt my favorite game in the series |
Storm In A Teacup
10.08.16 | Reach is my all time halo favorite game. My brother and I would play the final level when you're alone after everything and survive for hours. One of the all time best games and game endings. the whole thing was epic and the battles were the best halo has ever offered. |
TheSpaceMan
10.08.16 | "are you ranking games or soundtracks"
sound tracks, ranking the games is impossible (: |
TheSpaceMan
10.08.16 | also since its safe to assume there are some Halo 3 fans peeping this list, I just uploaded a decent legendary speedrun for the level 'The Storm' on YT. check it out if you like the game:

10.08.16 | Reach had a decent campaign but I pretty much despise everything about reach multi-player since that was where the really decided to copy CoD. Luckily, they toned the CoD worship down after that one. Competitive halo undeniably peaked at 3 though. It was the best for skilled players and had the highest and longest sustained online population. Yes I'm a rabid fan my rant is over |
Snide
10.08.16 | ODST's soundtrack is better, but this is still really damn nice. |
StrikeOfTheBeast
10.08.16 | I don't think playing Halo would be the same without these soundtracks to anchor them. |
TheSpaceMan
10.08.16 | I pretty much despise everything about reach multi-player since that was where the really decided to copy CoD." yeah exactly, thats where Halo went from leading the pack and demolishing a new pathway for the genre for all other games to look up to, to following the lead of another series. sad really.
"Luckily, they toned the CoD worship down after that one." disagree
"Competitive halo undeniably peaked at 3 though." agree so hard, so many memories and the Halo 3 MLG mainstage was my favorite competitive gaming showcasing ever
"It was the best for skilled players" disagree Halo 2 had the highest skill gap no contest |
StrikeOfTheBeast
10.08.16 | "thats where Halo went from leading the pack and demolishing a new pathway for the genre for all other games to look up to, to following the lead of another series. sad really."
True, but Halo 4 at least was still better than any CoD game. |
Rolling Girl
10.08.16 | "I pretty much despise everything about reach multi-player since that was where the really decided to copy CoD." It was Halo 4 for me, I had a lot of fun with Reach, but they redeemed 343 themselves with 5

10.08.16 | "disagree Halo 2 had the highest skill gap no contest"
I played halo 2 more than any game and I have to disagree. I actuallu even briefly msde the top 1000 leaderbpard for rumble pit. It had the most sticky aim of any of them other than maybe halo 4. Plus, the dual wielding system with the single smg start for regular slayer was just broken. Halo 3 operated with hitscan. You had to lead your shots and moreso at long range. Long range in halo 3 really separated the men from the boys.
Also, I'd like to add that I hated halo 4 as well and I agree with last guy that they redeemed themselves a little with 5. It'd the best one since 3 I think. 4 had that crappy bloom mechanic

Storm In A Teacup
10.08.16 | Crysis 3 multiplayer beats all halo multiplayer |
Storm In A Teacup
10.08.16 | I have played and semi-loved to worshiped every Halo game, but being poor I haven't been able to afford Halo 5 and a device that can play it since it came out. I'm hoping that I can get an Xbox One in the next 6 months and get Halo 5. I know nothing about the story and I love Halo's story. My biggest complaint was Halo 2's story ending so fucking soon. That was bullshit. |
TheSpaceMan
10.08.16 | @Eakflanderyof I feel you man but smg starts are obviously stupid I'm talking about competitive play. you cant really argue that having to change default settings makes it less competitive esp when Halo 3 had a ton more tweaking in MLG than H2 did (they changed it to 110% movement speed, 110% damage and 90% shield recharge rate in every competitive tourny)
also "Halo 3 operated with hitscan" this is completely backwards the Halo 2 BR did and thats what makes it more competitive/higher skill gap than the halo 3 BR which was not hitscan. the fact that theres no RNG element in mid+ range shooting with the battle rifle in Halo 2 means its completely based on skill and positioning rather than capitalizing on the chance a bullet spread will cause the other dude to miss and tip the battle in your favor. |
TheSpaceMan
10.08.16 | "My biggest complaint was Halo 2's story ending so fucking soon. That was bullshit."
yup same thats its only downfall campaign wise imo, it was suppose to have like 5 others levels set on earth and end at Truth activating the artifact in Africa so basically the beginning of halo 3. microsoft was just a whiney bitch and pushed for a faster release then bungie needed |
StrikeOfTheBeast
10.08.16 | Halo 2 is still one of the funnest games in the series though. |
ConcubinaryCode
10.08.16 | I thought the deal with the halo 2 campaign was that they made so much and had so many ideas they couldn't be supported on the Xbox 1.also the ending to reach was probably my favorite moment in the halo games I've played. Exploring the remnants of a destroyed city in odst is pretty close behind that. |
TheSpaceMan
10.08.16 | @strike yea dude no doubt its probs my favorite tbh but its a toss up with halo 3 |
TheSpaceMan
10.08.16 | 'I thought the deal with the halo 2 campaign was that they made so much and had so many ideas they couldn't be supported on the Xbox 1.' pretty much, the hardware couldnt handle the original version so they had to scrap it and start all over. what they had going would have been monumental |
Storm In A Teacup
10.08.16 | wow okay then I guess a decade later I'm giving Halo 2 a full pass lol |
StrikeOfTheBeast
10.08.16 | I feel the campaign to Halo 2 is choppy, and both sides of the story never really coalesce as they should. It's still pretty cool that they expanded on the first game like that though, and the gameplay itself more than makes up for it. |
TheSpaceMan
10.08.16 | The opening levels in Halo 2 though god fucking damn |
DisdainfulChemist
10.08.16 | 1 is finest |
StrikeOfTheBeast
10.08.16 | I don't recall anyone who doesn't like Halo 1 or at least respect it for its influence on gaming. Still a great game to play. |
NutsDeepInGuts
11.02.16 | Marty was/is a certified musical genius, stuff like behold a pale horse is about as good as music gets for me |
TheSpaceMan
11.02.16 | marty is fuckin amazing, he did that three decade old flinstones vitamins jingle too! |
