| Out of normal music
So, their is this weird misconception, especially (ironically) on a discussive music site that enjoying shit that people deem as shit, e.g typical whiny metalcore or sugar coated pop is such a horrible thing and impossible to enjoy. Now, I might think Arianna Grande is horrible, but it's not an outright fact that she is horrible, if you like her and want to convince me her new album is worth listening just give a convincing argument why, even if it's short. With that in mind also, I am not saying you should listen to shit you know you won't enjoy to increase your "objectivity". That's insanely stupid. For example, listening to Cold Lakes by Celtic Frost because you know you will hate it. Listening to it because you want to see for yourself if it's actually so bad is another. With that in mind, here is my "out of the ordinary" music I actually really like. | 1 | | I See Stars New Demons | 2 | | A Day to Remember For Those Who Have Heart | 3 | | D.R.U.G.S. D.R.U.G.S. | 4 | | Chiodos Bone Palace Ballet | 5 | | Suicide Silence The Black Crown | |

01.05.17 | Ariana Grande's Dangerous Woman (Deluxe Edition) is incredible. Tracks like the t/t and Let Me Love You are sexy and the Lil Wayne feature isn't even bad and really makes the song after his verse by adding background vocals. There are also the fun songs like Into You, Be Alright, Greedy, and Everyday. The deluxe edition holds the best "three track run" I've ever heard starting with Touch It and ending with Thinking Bout You. In the middle of these is Knew Better/Forever Boy which by the title tells you there's a complete mood change in the second half. Something you don't find in modern pop | Drifter
01.05.17 | This might not be a good explanation but it is a 5/5 for me and (obv.) one of my favorite albums of all time | Astral Abortis
01.05.17 | Cold Lake has some mad bangers | VaxXi
01.05.17 | wtf | Funeralopolis
01.05.17 | I jam whitechapel on the regular, no regrets | AsleepInTheBack
01.05.17 | much love for 3, so unbelievably catchy | Dedes
01.05.17 | glad you are a fan of d.r.u.g.s man that's actually really cool, it is a kind of awkward album but it's so unique in spite of it's semi-poppyness. I only made this list because it seems like people really shit on others for liking music that isn't too favored here, such as blackmalachite really liking bvb and getting a lot of shit for it. It is nice to seem some people are more chill about it though. | Dedes
01.05.17 | Also Cold Lake actually had some solid riffs but man it feels so horribly uncomfortable, like his voice just really doesn't work with that style of metal. It also doesn't help that I just can't get into Glam metal as a whole. But I mean hey if you like it more power to you man. Personally my current favorite by them is Monotheist. Really dark unsettling album. | granitenotebook
01.05.17 | agreed whole-heartedly, it will never be a "fact" that any music is good or bad | granitenotebook
01.05.17 | also here's an argument as to why I think dangerous woman is pretty good http://www.sputnikmusic.com/review/71030/Ariana-Grande-Dangerous-Woman/ | AsleepInTheBack
01.05.17 | yeah thats just how music sites go. I think so long as people are not narrow minded about music taste and are willing to try anything then I have no problem people listening to 'out of normal music'. Still happy and proud to jam MCR, Linkin Park, Green Day, Slipknot et al myself whilst accepting they aren't anything special in the grand scheme of things | Drifter
01.05.17 | I'd argue Green Day are the most special of those you just mentioned | Dedes
01.05.17 | Honestly that's how I feel about I see Stars, like I have been jamming the hell out of the song New Demons and while it's an emo cringe fest I love it. Also while I still am really unsure about Dangerous Woman i'll definetly put it on my list | Drifter
01.05.17 | There ya go | Dedes
01.06.17 | Not so much out of ordinary as outside of what the user base deems good music. I'll be honest a day to remember wasn't the greatest example. | Dedes
01.06.17 | Lol yeah one of my closest friends is a bit of an elitist with black metal so to him this shit is like blasphemy, I think I was kind of thinking of him a bit as well. Speaking of which i'm getting a demo from him soon of some black metal stuff he is doing and he writes really badass riffs so i'm excited. He's not quite a band as it's just him and he still needs a drummer, but I definetly hope he finds one soon. | MyNameIsPencil
01.06.17 | NORMIES | Dedes
02.09.18 | Yeah this is my favorite list where's the feature at |
