Top 5 good metalcore albums

Metalcore can be a dirty word for some people, but there are some albums that fall under the category that are very much worth listening to.
5Every Time I Die
New Junk Aesthetic

An excellent and very fun album. Sardonic lyrics, thick guitars and a classic hardcore attitude make this album perfect for newcomers and veterans of the genre.
4Integrity
Those Who Fear Tomorrow

The quintessential "to hell with the world!" album by these metalcore pioneers. The melding of hardcore attitudes and metallic riffs blends perfectly. A pissed off classic that deserves your attention.
3The Dillinger Escape Plan
One of Us Is the Killer

As crushing as it is beautiful. Seamlessly blending brutal riffs and screams with melody and anthemic choruses. This was my first real introduction to good metalcore and the album's opener Prancer absolutely kicked my ass and converted to into fan almost instantly.
2Catharsis (US)
Samsara

A late 90's masterpiece. Fast, mosh-worthy instrumentals and animalistic growls brimming with untamed hostility. However, my personal favorite aspect of this album are the amazing and poetic lyrics. Read the lyrics to "Every man for himself and God against them all," and if you aren't blown away I don't know what to say.
1Converge
Jane Doe

An undisputed classic. The album is chaotic and brutal yet filled with nuance and subtle details. Stunning instrumental prowess and furious and passionate vocals alongside emotionally tinged lyrics create a truly breathtaking experience. The production is masterful as well and anyone looking for good metalcore should start here and then dive into either other suggestions on this list or anything bearing Kurt Ballou's production.
