Albums which divided fanbase

There's a point in a band career in which they got tired of releasing the same album over and over again, so they start to experiment. As a consequence fans have 2 decisions, follow the band no matter how they changed musically, or just stop listening to them. Here are some interesting albums that I found listener have huge debates.
1Genesis
...And Then There Were Three...

Peter Gabriel already left some years ago, but the fanbase actually didn't split because of Hackett was still in the band. When Steve quit and the band released "follow you, follow me" their fans got nuts.
2Pearl Jam
No Code

Although Vitalogy was a little annoying with some "avant-garde" songs the album is far from disgrace. From no code onwards the band stopped doing grunge and start experimenting with other sounds and it became the breaking point for many fans who grew up listening to ten.
3Metallica
Metallica

Did the band achieved worldwide recognition? yes. Did the band got a diamond certified album? yes. Did the fans like that they changed the complex song structures of the early albums to a more straight-forward sound? hell no.
4Sonata Arctica
Unia

With Reckoning night sonata arctica already abandoned their "power metal" sound instead of a more progressive metal sound. The problem was that with unia, they started to enjoy their dream theater-esque sound and the band never stop receiving criticism from their fans since then.

It was the 80's. Progressive rock didn't work anymore, The pioneers of the genre sacrificed their sound and choose to follow the new-wave trend and the album became the anti-thesis of close to the edge.
6Limp Bizkit
Results May Vary

I think this album was necessary. The album is considered one of the worst albums of all time. Amazingly I have to disagree. Fred Durst stop making stupid lyrics and instead he made one of the most surprising albums ever. Sure, there's no Wes Borland in the album but at least there is no "hot dog" anywhere in the album, Thank God. Yes. there are people who stop listening the band starting this album.
7Stone Temple Pilots
Tiny Music... Songs from the Vatican...

Not sure if it was an album which divided the fans. but from this album, the band stop doing their "grunge driven songs" and they got more experimental. Ironically from that album the band went downfall.
8Smashing Pumpkins
Adore

Billy Corgan said that he regreted not clarifying that the album was mostly acoustic instead of making believe the fans that he would continue the same trend that he started in the previous album. The band is still popular and Corgan is still a great musician but reviews from that album onwards are less than positive.
9Megadeth
Cryptic Writings

Megadeth hardcore fans got lost with this album and by the release of risk they stop following the band.
10Rush
Grace Under Pressure

Geddy replaced the bass for the keyboard and Alex Lifeson guitar turned into an element to complement the keyboards rather than being the lead instrument became one of the worst decisions in rush career.
