Led Zeppelin Albums Ranked

My Ranking of Led Zeppelins Discography. The top 5 are quite interchangeable as they are all masterpieces.
9Led Zeppelin
Coda

A collection of unreleased tracks. Lower quality than the classic 8 studio albums as you should expect. still has some great songs. Were Gonna Groove and Poor Tom come to mind.
8Led Zeppelin
In Through the Out Door

John Paul Jones and Robert Plant take over on this one. Overall an excellent album, but lacking in the hard edge rock that made them a household name. Still full of fantastic compositions and underrated gems.
7Led Zeppelin
Presence

A "back to basics" approach was taken in the making of this album. For the most part it worked brilliantly but it does suffer from a few weaker tracks on side 2. Achilles Last Stand propels this album from just "very Good" to "Excellent" status.
6Led Zeppelin
Led Zeppelin III

A fantastic album known as zeppelins foray into folk music. While side two features mostly acoustic numbers of varying quality, side one still has some fantastic rockers, most notably the immigrant song, along with one of my favourites, Since I've Been Loving You. It hurts putting this at #6 but I simply love 1-5 better.
5Led Zeppelin
Houses of the Holy

Their most psychedelic/experimental album featuring their most complex material. Weighed down by two weaker songs (the crunge and dyer maker) making it a slightly inconsistent album when compared to the top 4. Still a masterpiece.
4Led Zeppelin
Physical Graffiti

Their most eclectic release. The 1974 material on it is probably the strongest in their career but it is slightly weighed down by slightly weaker (but still great) "bonus" tracks from previous sessions ranging from 70-73. Zep 2 gets the edge over this because of its overall tighter structure and track listing although it does not reach the heights of kashmir or ten years gone.
3Led Zeppelin
Led Zeppelin II

This album simply rocks, nothing much more can be said, One of the critical albums in heavy metal's inception along with Black Sabbath and In Rock. Zep 4 places slightly higher because it features more acoustic numbers giving it a wonderful light/shade atmosphere.
2Led Zeppelin
Led Zeppelin IV

This is one of the bestselling albums of all time for a reason. Masterful from start to finish - a true amalgamation of the harder edge of the first two albums and the acoustic excellence of zep 3. Personally zeppelin 1 places slightly higher because of Plants insane vocal performance and the intensity of pages solos.
1Led Zeppelin
Led Zeppelin

The greatest debut album of all time. An electrifying combo of blues, early heavy metal and even folk. One of the greatest vocal performances of all time courtesy of Robert Plant. Raw, energetic and uplifting- a true masterpiece. Standout Songs: All of them except black mountain side
