Not My Flansburgh–Nelsonville Music Festival 2017
First time ever going to this fest. Camped out the whole weekend with my stepmom and half sister and aside from some allergies and not being able to sleep, I had a blast. List is everyone I saw. |
1 | | Big Thief Masterpiece
A darker, more mellow sounding punk band like Mother, never heard of them before but enjoyed their set quite a bit. |
2 | | Ron Gallo Heavy Meta
A bit of a local legend apparently, but it wasn't hard to see why. Saw two of their sets and they were incredibly high energy and fun to watch. Not to mention his guitar playing is superb, definitely going to check this album out. |
3 | | Cloud Nothings Life Without Sound
One of my favorite shows from a musical standpoint. Never heard of them prior but was really happy to hear them. |
4 | | Mothers When You Walk A Long Distance You Are Tired
These guys were okay. Not bad music but really wasn't into the performance. |
5 | | Rodriguez Searching for Sugar Man
Not a huge fan of singer/songwriter music, but he and his band were absolutely fantastic. He is someone who deserves a larger following in the U.S |
6 | | They Might Be Giants Why?
They Might Be Giants easily stole the show. Incredible performance that was so much fun and high energy to see. While I never listened to them before, I couldn't ask for a better introduction to the band. |
7 | | Mirah Changing Light
Almost skipped this set completely but I'm glad I didn't. Some nice and easy going indie rock to make you feel fuzzy on the inside. |
8 | | Ween La Cucaracha
Only heard one song of theirs beforehand (Ocean Man) but that is about to change. These guys have some incredible music and their frontman is ridiculously talented. While I think some of their more longtime fans were disappointed in their performance, they definitely put on a solid show. |
