07.02.17 | I don't write reviews, but whenever I have a block in anything else, I just imagine myself explaining the thing to someone with a natural free flow. So I guess it applies here too. Imagine if someone asked you about that album and you now have to give your opinion. Sure, that is not exactly a review form, but you can write it down into notes and then use those as guidelines.

07.02.17 | Perhaps try listening to the album and jotting down thoughts as you go. Consider what your favorite things about the album are. If you don't know how to start, try writing a contest for the album in the artitst's (or maybe the genre's, if it's a classic) history; you don't really have to do any analysis here so it shouldn't be difficult to write and it'll he'll get the words flowing. Also consider whether you want to analyze the album in a meta sense or if you want to discuss songs individually. |

07.02.17 | Have you heard the song "writer's block" at the end of pearl jam's binaural? It sounds very frustrating Eddie typing and have to pull off the page and start all over again. Take your time man. |

07.02.17 | Listen to any interview with David Milch.. it's what I do, and it works every time.. Hearing a painfully intelligent writer talk about anything can make you feel inspired.. |

07.02.17 | I have writers block a lot and I'm also super insecure about my reviews. What the people said above are all great ideas. The best thing you can do is just keep writing, even if what you think you're writing sucks because eventually you'll find something you like. Also, having someone read or edit your review is a huge help. |

07.04.17 | Really glad you're enjoying Bathing Beach, mate. Hope you break through the writer's block. Sometimes I think it really does help just to write short, free-flowing, even convoluted pieces, just to break through and find that initial inspiration or motivation to keep on writing. Let me know if I can ever help as well, often the little things you might get caught up on in your own writing might not be so bad to others. |

07.04.17 | Drink lots of coffee, then write whatever you want in a stream of consciousness. Then try to arrange and edit it into something coherent. Then after re-reading it 10-15 times if it doesn't feel totally awful, it's probably okay.
Trust me I'm a professional writer. |
