LeOmegaLeviathan 08.26.17	Biohazard and RATM are not nu metal, those acts don't have murky bass, they have guitar solos, they don't use drop A and drop C like Korn, Slipknot, deftones and SOAD, they don't have grunge elements and their drum work has the influence of hard rock and metal, in nu metal bands the drums have certain elements of hip hop and funk, biohazard is closer to hardcore or metallic hardcore and RATM is alternative metal like faith no more, mr bungle, tool, jane's addiction,living colour and helmet

Sure they used dream pop elements and more experimental stuff but in that album they still were nu metal

Perhaps some people made those comments because some of the purists rockers were more familiar or liked more RATM than the other bands, including stuff like deftones or SOAD
lg433 08.26.17	imo people intentionally separating deftones and mudvayne from nu metal was the most hilarious. Slapping that progor experimental label does not take away the fact that they had a recognizable nu metal sound.
