yeah they have been better than their points would indicate. the main thing is we need to get the level of goaltending we've used to in order to have a chance to contend this year
also, what the pdo doesn't show is the powerplay which hasn't been very good so far. imo the biggest issue here is the awful treatment galchenyuk has got, he could be an impact offensive driver in this team but instead he's being played with 4th line plugs on his weaker side and it's eating up his confidence. |

it's still a very young team but they were one of those black horses heading into the season. hjalmarsson/oel was expected to be a killer of a pair, keller was a calder favorite, stepan was expected to be a legit top line centre, strome was expected to finally be ready for nhl and raanta was expected to become the #1g. only keller has panned out so far. raanta looks like an unquestionable starter when he comes back but it's too late already. |

Obviously Vegas wouldn't continue to win like they did at the start of the season, but it is incredibly impressive what they have achieved despite their goaltending misfortune.

it was pretty heartbreaking for me to see the jets falter so badly against vegas, especially in the last game they sucked so bad i got legit mad. love when the jets are on their game, same with tampa which is why i wanted that final to happen
also, about the caps, when they last year fell against the pens, it was widely considered as their peak and despite pretty much everyone still seeing them as a playoff team no one really thought they'd be the force in the regular season they used to be. everything until the pens series seemed to point towards that, they were the clear underdogs in that series unlike the last two years |
