sixdegrees made me do it. Keep in mind I just listened to Metallica for the first time just a few months back, so this is all fresh. Like legit 6 months ago I only knew Enter Sandman and I thought it was called Exit Light. I also posted this list once and it fucking deleted itself and now im fucking pissed off.

St. Anger

wtf is this shit? I have tried listening to this shit several times but it legit sounds like my ears are getting raped. How the fuck could anyone put this out without being embarrased? Best song: none.

Reload

This album is fucking awful, but not as bad as St Anger. At best, it's just boring and uninteresting. At worst, it's fucking cringeworthy and very difficult to sit through. Most of it is just painfully boring but it occasionally gets so bad, like Slither, that it makes me want to end my life. Best song: Fixxxer (an actual good song)

Hardwired... to Self-Destruct

This was my first Metallica album. I actually really liked it alot on my first listen..then I discovered the rest of their albums and realized this one isn't very good. Again, it's mostly just boring, however it's never cringeworthy. There are some genuine great riffs and moments scattered around this album, as well, as a few excellent songs, but you have to sit through a few minutes of boring chugs to get there first. Also, why the fuck is this split up on 2 CDs? And why the fuck did this standard album take 9 years to make? Best song: Spit Out The Bone

Garage Inc.

This album confuses me. Half of it is really good. The other half is really bad. It's a very interesting album, with some songs being barely 2 minutes and others going past the 9 minute mark. But it goes from Mercyful Fate, an 11 minute insane riff fest, immediately followed by Whiskey In A Jar which sounds like it was written in 5 minutes for extra cash. But the good songs are really good!...but the bad songs are really bad...Best song: Mercyful Fate and Astronomy tie.

Metallica

Decently decent and nothing more. Pretty standard heavy metal album with occasional thrash moments and occasional $oft rock moments. Nothing on it is bad, it's all okay. Nothing more to say honestly. Best song: Through The Never (but I really like Nothing Else Matters)
6Metallica
Death Magnetic

I like this album alot more than what I was lead onto believing. It's got some pretty damn good riffs and solos and has plenty of great songs. I also think it's very interesting how a band this mainstream could make an album this thrashy and progressive. It has plenty of material to bring me back to multiple visits, even if it isn't as notable or excellent as their early releases. Best song: That Was Just Your Life.
5Metallica
Ride the Lightning

A big jump up from #6. This album is excellent. I remember the first time I heard Fight Fire With Fire, that acoustic intro turning into this lightning-fast heavy riff caught me off guard so hard like I thought it was a good troll. There isn't a bad song on the album and it's the first Metallica album I can say is genuinely fantastic. Best song: Fade To Black
4Metallica
...And Justice for All

Metallica's most interesting album and also has the best riffs. Some songs are just 7 minutes of catchy chuggy riffs and I love it. It's also progressive as fuck. If there is one album that will grow on me even more, it is this one. But when it comes to the riffs, this is easily their best. Best song: Blackened
3Metallica
Master of Puppets

This is Metallica's most epic album, with grand riffs and sweeping songs. I totally understand why people think this is their best album. I know it isn't but this album feels like a concept album, with all the songs sort of flowing together to make one single piece. It's probably Metallica's most matured album. Best song: Orion.
2Metallica
Load

Lynch me, but it's fucking true. I thought this album would be shit but I turned out loving it. It's very emotional and moving, and it has some of Metallica's most mature music. It doesnt feel at all like a radio cash grab, but instead they said "well, we are here, let's right the best music we can" and they did. Even the fucking COUNTRY song is written with so much heart. Actually, the entire album is written with a certain heart and emotion that isn't on the other albums. It is also Metallica's best lyrical album. Best song: tie between Outlaw Torn, Bleeding Me, and Hero Of The Day.
1Metallica
Kill 'Em All

This album is so fucking fun. Every song and every riff is blasting with energy and insanity. It is a front to end madhouse and i love it so much. The riffs are all very catchy, the solos are BLISTERING insane, and the vocals are just as crazy. This has got to be one of the best debut albums of any band of any genre ever. Best song: I love them all, I cant decide.
