So I had this idea one night while I may, or may not, have been under the influence. My wife says it's dumb but I think it's absolute genius (just like most of my other stoned ideas). So I'm putting it out here so that when it happens, I have proof that it was my idea first.
"One Step Beyond"
There have been some epic soundtracks over the years that shaped a great many musical experiences (e.g.- "Pump Up the Volume", "Basketball Diaries", "Natural Born Killers" to name a few) that were meant to enhance the feeling of a film that had already been made using [mostly] existing songs. I would like to make the soundtrack first and have the movie built around it.
"A Little Bit of Baby (Gonna Make Me Want to Live Again)"
A producer with the right taste and the right connects (like a Rick Ruben) convinces a bunch of artists to contribute a great song to a soundtrack compilation to a movie that hasn't been made yet...
not sure how dark a turn it would be for a film to go from folk-y guitar-wielding noir to sudden stoner-doom, but if that could be pulled off, it'll be all the more powerful for it.
