2 | | Richard Hell and The Voidoids Blank Generation
Frippertronics
"Love Comes In Spurts"
The big deciding factor for this track i think is whether youll like the vox or not. Richard Hell has a very specific eccentric vocal style that i found pretty cool. Super sing-along-y, especially the chorus.

3 | | The Suicide Machines A Match and Some Gasoline
dbizzles
"Your Silence"
Possibly a little too on the nose with its themes for its own good but this was a great pump up track. That little ska flavored section in there was unexpected and pretty funny but kinda worked. Nice one dbizz.

4 | | Fury (USA) Paramount
Sniff
"Thin Line"
“Thin Line” started decent with some nice shouted vox and drum kicks but went on a one way trip to riff town at the 45 second mark. The rest of the track was a head banger. Song has a lot of change ups despite its short run time.

5 | | Oh Sees Live In San Francisco
IcelandReveal
"I Come From The Mountain"
Great punky performance, i think i heard the right version but it almost didn't even sound live. That little riff that rears its head every now and then (you know which one) is dope. Could have benefitted from a small duration cut but that i think is my only complaint.
3.7 |
6 | | Discharge Hear Nothing See Nothing Say Nothing
Bloon
"Free Speech for the Dumb"
This track banged right from the start. Sick riffs, tone, and attitude. Is it the most lyrically diverse and thought provoking song? Nah. But does it shred and get you hype? Hell yeah. Just shout away and rock out. Oh and Beware the youtube comment section (not that i prob needed to warn you anyway).
3.8 |
7 | | Fear The Record
Ovrot
"New Yorks Alright if you like Saxophones"
Short but effective, “New Yorks…” is a swell time. Fear put in some (expected) brassy goodness in there to spice things up and give the track a little unhinged flavor. I got excited whenever the sax dropped in the song.
3.5 (3.6) with handicap |
8 | | Satanic Surfers 666 Motor Inn
hansoloshotfirst
"Soothing"
Loud, in your face, and bursting with youthful energy, “Soothing” is a solid no-nonsense punk rock track. While i was a fan of the song, i felt it didn’t do too much to differentiate itself from those similar to it and fell a little short of others here.

"Systematic Death"
Ahhh a female vocal led punk ditty. “Systematic Death” is fast, frantic, and wacky good fun. I really liked the structure of the track and the good use of repetition. Was nice to hear something a little different.
3.5 |
10 | | Joyce Manor Never Hungover Again
Papa Universe
"Victoria"
A very short but very solid pop punky track. The song is pretty easy to sing along to, just shout “Victoria” and i think you got it. Not too much else to write off on this one, just that i liked it.
3.5 |
11 | | Envy A Dead Sinking Story
Aberf
"Reasons and Oblivion"
You may be stretching the boundaries of punk/hardcore with this screamo post hardcore epic abe but fuck it, it was really really good. “Reasons and Oblivion” is massive in scale and passionate in execution. The drumming was exceptional and the closing outro section was fantastic.
3.9 |
12 | | Jay Reatard Blood Visions
Frivolous
"Oh its Such a Shame"
What i think was extra cool about this track was how unexplainably menacing it started to sound as it went on. I caught myself air-guitaring and moving my head back and forth to the melody. The outro on this bad boi is the best part tho.
3.7 |
13 | | Tragic Mulatto Locos Por El Sexo
butcherboy
"Twerpenstein"
This song sounded BIG. Absolutely loved the vocals here. “Twerpenstein” is a little noisy, rockin’, and an all around banger. The riff here gets progressively more manic and the song becomes a collage of rad stuff happening and converging into one absurd yet controlled shotgun blast of energy.
4.4
*ROUND WINNER* |
14 | | Agenda Menneskehetens Massegrav
Archelirion
"Konfrontasjon"
A delicious riff and SNARE sandwich with extra crust. “Konfrontasjon” is grimy and raw sounding like this style should be. The shouted/shrieky vocals felt just right and on top of it all, you guessed it, it’s name your price!
3.7 |
15 | | The Vandals Hitler Bad, Vandals Good
granitenotebook
"My Girlfriend's Dead"
Okay so i goofed up and got this rec late, but yknow what? It was worth it bc this was really fun. The tune doesn't take itself too seriously but its catchy and hilarious. Congrats, ya pass granite.
3.5 |
16 | | END (NJ) From the Unforgiving Arms of God
po0ty
"Necessary Death"
“Necessary Death” is crushing, heavy, and ready to throw you in a mosh pit. Their style sounds a bit like Harms Way and Trap Them had a baby. The breakdown at the end was solid.

17 | | Jacobi Wichita Lambsie.Divey
CaimanJesus
"Belly Up"
I sensed a lot of Glassjaw influence on this one, not a bad thing in the slightest tho. Very diverse vocal performance, i think they are the highlight of this track. I cant quite put my finger on it, but i just really dug the feel of this song. It had attitude but a certain slickness to it that i liked.
3.7 |
18 | | Kerouac Cold and Distant, Not Loving
Avagantamos
"Heavy Hearted"
Straight out hradcore sludge boot camp comes Kerouac, A Southhampton hardcore band ready to make some noise and play some jams. Great guitar tone and build up for this track. The short lived but effective use of vocals at the end was a nice touch, their scarcity made them feel more impactful.
3.7 |
19 | | United Mutation Rainbow Person
Chortles
"Infinite Regression"
Coming in at only a minute 30, “Infinite Regression” is the shortest track of the lot but also one of the most unique. United Mutation are basically a bunch of black metal dudes playing some dope hardcore; production, vox, and all.
3.6 |
20 | | Million Dead A Song to Ruin
dctarga
"Pornogrophy for Cowards"
These harsh vox were my favorite part of the track. Their delivery is fast, exciting and fun. The clean vocals i was a bit iffy on but they may grow on me with time.
3.6 |
21 | | Descendents Milo Goes to College
FullOfSounds
"Myage"
A fantastic way to cap off the punk round. “Myage” is the intro track off the famous “Milo Goes to College,” an album i should've heard a long long time ago. This is like pop punk before the pop punk we know today and its super cool. The song is youthful and full of some dank bass.
