2018: Back-Half Exciters

Pretty self-explanatory, feel free to chime in with your own and/or any I may have missed.
1Foxing
Nearer My God

Out already, I know, but I'm still waiting on the vinyl to arrive, so this is next at-bat for me.
2Thou
Magus

Working my way through the EP trilogy currently, pumped to have a full-length capper and curious whether it's gonna blend together all the other sounds or strike out in yet another new direction. Either way, should be quality.
3Alice in Chains
Rainier Fog

I'm as shocked as anyone that post-Layne Alice in Chains ended up anything but embarrassing, let alone downright great, and early singles seem like this'll keep the streak going.
4Nothing
Dance On The Blacktop
5Marissa Nadler
For My Crimes
6Thrice
Palms

I dug To Be Everywhere is to Be Nowhere quite a bit, and while "The Grey" isn't too interesting a lead-off single (opening riff notwithstanding), still quite optimistic for this one.
7Joyce Manor
Million Dollars To Kill Me
8Emma Ruth Rundle
On Dark Horses

May also check out her show at Baltimore Soundstage in late September.
9Toby Driver
They Are the Shield

Somehow completely missed the boat on his live performance demo-ing of these tracks--feel a little guilty on that, but glad Sputnik brought this to my attention. Spinning Madonnawhore again in preparation, feel like that albums gets a bad rap, it's pretty great for its chosen stylistic wheelhouse.
10Cursive
Vitriola

Glad they're back--and with cello! Read this: https://www.npr.org/2018/08/08/636022255/for-a-wracked-world-cursives-vitriola-returns-to-a-reckless-sound
11Blood Orange
Negro Swan

Need to plumb back through this discography soon, but Freetown Sound is a cover-to-cover jam. May catch him at the Lincoln Theater, schedule permitting.
12Minus the Bear
Fair Enough

Bittersweet, since it's the band's swan song (at least for now--I never fully trust bands "retiring"; see #6), but hope this represents them going out on a stronger note than Voids. Am definitely seeing the farewell tour at the Fillmore Silver Spring.
13Spiritualized
And Nothing Hurt

Speaking of swan songs...

(Allegedly?)
14Gaika
Basic Volume
15Coheed and Cambria
Vaxis - Act I: The Unheavenly Creatures

Back to the sci-fi! "The Dark Sentencer," artwork, and basically just everything about this looks ridiculous as fuck, and I mean that in the best possible way. Bummed I missed them with Taking Back Sunday earlier this Summer, hoping they come back around supporting this bad boy.
16Bosse-de-Nage
Further Still
17mewithoutYou
Pale Horses

Is it an LP? An EP?!? HOPEFULLY BOTH?!?!? Guess we're all finding out on a not-so-distant midnight, but hot damn, that first single...hyped as hell.
