15 Great Opening Songs

Yesterday was best closing songs, today it's best opening songs, and I'm bored as crap at work
1Streetlight Manifesto
We Will Fall Together

If you haven't figured out by my other lists, SM is one of my all time favorite bands, and to finally hear this new songs explode the beginning of the album was orgasmic
2The Cure
Plainsong

Nothing can really amount to the exciment I felt when I was The Cure live, and they burst on stage with Plainsong. Mystical and enchanting opening
3John Mayer
Clarity

I don't care what you think, John Mayer is a damned good musician! haha
Honestly though, he has a way with his music that is very orginal and even though it's mainstream on occasion, still feels like he tries to break away from it
4Muse
New Born

Not sure what to say, relentless bass, steady drumming, and distored riff...it's Muse what else you want!?
5Radiohead
Everything in its Right Place

They set the mood for the album once again, w/ a sense of distortion and not knowing what to expect
6Massive Attack
Angel

Thing I love about Massive Attack is they can't be put in to one real genre. The simple cymble play and mysterious sounding bass make Angel a good reel in song
7Nine Inch Nails
Head Like A Hole

Angst-ridden, chant worthy, and making pianos a cool instrument, NIN was a good fresh a breath air
8Smasing Pumpkins
Cherub Rock

I was orginally thinking "Doomsday Clock" to show a good return, but then I remembered, nothing screams SP like the album the jumped their career to real rock stars
9Disturbed
Voices

First song I heard from Disturbed, and my thought was "What is this amazingness?!" David Druman has one of th emost unique voices in the music industry
10Flogging Molly
Screaming at the Wailing Wall

Irish punk rock, what more needs be said. Bagpipes, rapid drumming, and a raspy voice. Lets get our bar-fight on!
11Institute
Bullet-Proof Skin

I respect Bush way more then Institute, and although they're diffrent bands, they started off w/ on a good note
12Vedera
Trade This Fear

It's hard for me to like a female vocalist, but Vedera's singer is not just great, but sexy. You'll want to marry her just for her voice in their first song of this cd
13U2
Where the Streets Have No Name

U2 to me is like Coldplay, I hate them b/c they honestly do make good music. When they played this song live for the superbowl few years back, every hair was standing up on my body
14Interpol
Pioneers to the Fall

Haunting is the best way to put Pioneers. Echoing guitars, glooming organ, and distraught vocals; you're sucked in to Interpol
15John Frusciante
Enter a Uh

Scarey...just scarey...distorted...but scarey is the main.
