Riffs and other shit

Just shit I've been jamming throughout May that you should to
1Akasha
Canticles of the Sepulchral Deity

4/5- occultic black metal with the atmosphere of Inquisition but the bestial aggression of war metal.
2GARDSGHASTR
Slit Throat Requiem

4/5-Emperor goes atmospheric bm with nice veil of sorta dsbm spookiness added on top. Favorite atmoblack in a long time.
3Deathspell Omega
The Furnaces of Palingenesia

4/5-4.5/5 (still undecided). DsO amps the melancholy and tones down the chaos. Definitely sorta reminiscent of stuff like Kenose to some extent, also 2nd best DsO after Paracletus.
4Modern Life Is War
Witness

4.5/5-melodic hardcore with enough passion and energy to tear skyscrapers to puny rubble. Not much I can say that hasn't probably been said already but if you dig Defeater these guys were an undeniable influence on them.
5Tyler, the Creator
Flower Boy

4/5-hippity hop that I really, really dont need to describe but gosh darnit it's so fucking SMOOTH
6Full of Hell
Weeping Choir

4/5-grindcore (?)
Loud screams scary
7Hath
Of Rot And Ruin

4/5-dm that is the pure essence of modern dm's direction. Some Opeth, some Rivers of Nihil and clean vocals that are cathartic as hell and wholly their own style laid on top. Good sounds mane.
8Defeater
Defeater

3.5/5-hardly no Travels or Lost Grounds but fuck it, Defeater has regained the love and passion that made me fall in love with them as a twat head 15 year old. Vocals are slightly buried but it let's them beautiful drums shine.
9Staleworth
Covalence

3.5/5-sorta pop punk in the vein of bands like Balance and Composure. Fun stuff that makes me wanna mosh in a basement full of other sad 21 year olds who remember when all they listened to was Title Fight and Basement and local shitty underground bands.
10Mastodon
9 Song Demo

3.5/5-End of April jam but whatever this rules. The riffs groove, the vocals are fucking scathing, and Brann drumming is just as good as it would be on Remissions. Basically, Mastodon if they were stripped of their progressive tendencies.
