01.28.20 | What was your fav Death?
and yeah you need time with Hecker |
Relinquished
01.28.20 | jump into Prefuse 73 if you want a good Electronic discog to jump into. not too long or too short. |

01.28.20 | Sun Ra |

01.28.20 | Seiko! Awesome stuff, love this way of going about discogs. Got a couple to tie up, but then time to start on a few more excavations
"Sun Ra"
I once ran 2 miles in 25 mins to get away to catch the last train home from a Sun Ra-headlined festival about 5 minutes before he came on play because the vibe wasn't doing it for me, still haven't managed to process this as a regret |
GhandhiLion
01.28.20 | Lol the vibe of the festival?
When was this? He died in 93. Perhaps it was his Arkestra playing. |

01.28.20 | @dedex: My fave at the moment (I've gone back through most of them 2-3 more times) is Symbolic, but I need more time to digest a few of them.
Thx for the recs guys, keep em coming. |
Bedex
01.28.20 | Tim Hecker's discog is incredibly strong, go for it dude
"Prior to last year, I had never heard more than a track or two from Death, even though I've been listening to DM for almost 2 decades now" excuse me what
|
NOTINTHEFACE
01.28.20 | Yeah I know, I know. In part that was because for years I felt like I had to own the music I got into and never forked up the cash for enough albums I wanted to hear. I'm over that now lmao. |
Bedex
01.28.20 | Yeah I can see how that'd be an obstacle. Glad you found a way now.
btw Pink Floyd's discog is an absolute must |
garas
01.28.20 | Ulver.
Becasue it means diversity and great quality with each release. |
Bedex
01.28.20 | oh yeah Ulver big [2] |
NOTINTHEFACE
01.28.20 | I've listened to most of Pink Flod's discog already, so i don't feel like I'd be hearing much that's new to me. A retread could be fun though.
@garas yeees thank you for reminding me that I've been meaning to do that for years now. The only ones I've heard are Bergtatt, Kveldsanger or w/e, and Julius Ceasar. Doing that one for sure. |
Deez
01.28.20 | Kayo Dot
Neurosis
Aphex Twin |
NOTINTHEFACE
01.28.20 | Deez: Huge Kayo Dot/Toby Driver fan already, so no problems there.
The other two are also discogs I've wanted to delve for a long time. I have to admit I've tried to get into Neurosis repeatedly with little success. I'm hoping that if I can hear the context of their evolution I'll appreciate it more. I love the Aphex Twin that I've heard and would probably like a full listen of his discog. |
Bedex
01.28.20 | Even if you've heard most of their stuff, I think for mammoth bands like Floyd or Ulver there is value in visiting discogs chronologically.
I mean, I appreciated Atom Heart Mother so much more seeing it as a precursor for the Dark Side - WYWH era. Live at Pompeii felt like a perfect summary of their early discog, which you can't really quite grasp except when doing a discog run. I think it's worth it. Plus, does one ever listen to too much Floyd? |
BookoftheFallen
01.28.20 | Devin Townsend |

01.31.20 | bowie discog is a journey, so many 10/10 albums throughout the 70s |
JohnnyoftheWell
02.01.20 | And then soon as you think it's over, he drops Scary Monsters. What a guy. |
Uzumaki
02.01.20 | How about...
FACT - Japanese hardcore/post-hardcore band, to whet your appetite
and
The Chemical Brothers - English electronic duo |
ArsMoriendi
02.01.20 | Do Frank Zappa/Mothers of Invention so I can love you
you have progressive rock on your pie chart already and he does that sometimes! and he's like the great artist of the 70s pretty much |
