02.05.20 | I truly am in love with mine, Sennheiser 25 HD II:

Quite affordable and perfectly neutral sounding, all is crisp and clear, every part replaceable. |

02.05.20 | Sennheisers are undoubtedly nice but a little on the pricey side, if you don't want to break the bank I recently got a pair of Audiotechnica mx40s for under 100 bucks and they sound pretty great |
Gyromania
02.05.20 | Can't beat a great pair of dollarama headphones |

02.05.20 | Budget? |

02.05.20 | I would suggest Audio Technica MX50s, classic choice. But be aware. Most of the balanced professional monitor cans can be harsh to your ears due to the high sibilance. |

02.05.20 | There is a Sony model mdr-v55 dj that you can find at around 50 dollars. Man, believe me, I have 2 of them, they are the absolute vfm for listening to metal. |

02.05.20 | I can confirm that the AudioTechnica M50x is indeed a good pair of headphones. People are starting to discredit their quality but try them yourself (I even use them for mixing even though they're not flat, got some pretty decent results nonetheless). |

02.05.20 | I rarely use headphones, but I've had a set of AudioTechnica M50 for a while, and they're nice. They sound really good, but have a long cable because they're studio monitoring style. You can usually get a coiled cable version, but I'm out of the loop on headphones these days. |

02.05.20 | I can't confirm for myself, but I know alot of people like the M40x and m50x. Whatever you go for, make sure its closed-back. Closed-back will give you better bass, which is important with metal. I could give a more specific rec if you gave a budget |

02.05.20 | i have positive vibration 2.0 which i am very happy with. they are great budget headphones; decent quality for a nice price. it is bluetooth though, not sure if that's what you want.

02.05.20 | I've a pair of senn momentum 2.0 wireless and they are good shit. Have a set of noble edc wired earphones too, also good. The senn replaced my ATm50 which are still great |

02.05.20 | I have Sennheriser 598's and the Audio-Technica MX50. I love the 598's, but they leak sound so I use the MX50 at work. I highly recomend both. |
dbizzles
02.05.20 | I got some Bose QC 35 II's recently and while I love them overall, pretty much anytime I jam metal, I have to set the noise cancellation to low or it feels like the white noise or whatever washes out the higher tones and almost buries riffs a bit unless I crank the volume, which ultimately defeats the purpose of noise cancellation. Now, it's very very very very easy to lower the noise cancellation setting (click of a button) but I thought it was worth mentioning since you asked specifically about metal.
I'm in no rush to turn in these bad boys, because I still fucking love them overall, but I'd recommend looking at Sony or Sennhauser as most of the reviews I read before buying these alluded to them maybe being better for music that isn't bass-heavy. |

02.06.20 | Thanks guys appreciate it. |

02.06.20 | i swear by beyerdynamic for anything headphone related, use a pair of dt770's and will probably be picking up some 1990s in the next year or so for mixing (770s are fantastic already but i'd like an open back pair to compliment) |
Sinternet
02.06.20 | personally i find the audio technica models fairly uncomfortable for loner than an hour or so at a time but different things work for different people. they're certainly decent for their price (if little more than that) |

02.06.20 | I like the bass-forward sony house sound signature and have a pair of mdr-1am2 that are probably my favorite headphone ever |
