half of 2020 (booooo)
this year has been shit but personally i have seen a lot of growth in myself. I got my first software development internship in january, then I quit smoking (almost 4 months clean woo), then I graduated college with a 3.6 and landed my first full time job. looking forward to moving out soon with my girlfriend. soooo here's ten 2020 releases i like |
1 | | END (NJ) Splinters From An Ever-Changing Face
this kicks ass but I'm also a counterparts fanboy so yes i love this |
2 | | Polaris (AUS) The Death of Me
this was the first 2020 release i dug, pretty solid metalcore nothing super special but I enjoyed it |
3 | | Loathe (UK) I Let It In And It Took Everything
this seems to be a very polarizing album on here but i really liked it for what it was, it felt fresh and new in a time where i feel like trends get stale easily in metalcore |
4 | | Drain (USA-CA) California Cursed
this kicks ass and is the most fun hardcore has been for me in a long time, it doesn't take itself seriously and doesn't overstay its welcome |
5 | | Denzel Curry and Kenny Beats Unlocked
this is super sick and i love denzel |
6 | | Rotting Out Ronin
i was way more excited about this before it came out, it's solid but did not live up to the hype i gave it. the singles were waaaay better than the rest of the album |
7 | | Invent Animate Greyview
dark was my SOTY at one point but I lost interest in the album quickly |
8 | | Run the Jewels RTJ4
what else would you expect from these two, some of the best in the game for a long time and haven't put out a dud yet |
9 | | Code Orange Underneath
kinda the album that represents quarantine for me, came out the day MI went on lockdown and was super excited to see them the next month (LOL) but quickly lost interest in the album as a whole after a couple weeks. (swallowing the rabbit whole is still one of my favorites though) |
10 | | Protest the Hero Palimpsest
this will probably end up higher on my list this year, but i haven't found the love everyone has for it yet |
