07.06.21 | Haven’t been as active on here lately - having two kids is apparently ten times more time consuming than having just one. The math doesn’t add up. But anyway I’m still alive and jamming. Fifty favorites from the first half of 2021. |

07.06.21 | @hal - Yes! Very overlooked album this year.
@Watch - Which I had an explanation 😕 Something about it didn’t click for me. Perhaps my expectations were too high. Ended up being a one-and-done, nothing particularly memorable for me. I’m a little baffled too. Will likely give it another shot toward the end of the year, though, just to be sure. |
WatchItExplode
07.06.21 | People have a variety of opinions on those groups. I was a tad let down, but still greatly prefer Green Field to the other albums. They just seem more rooted in actual rock music.
Iosonouncane and Lightening Bug might work for you if you haven't already checked.

07.06.21 | Check:
Hiatus Kaiyote - Mood Valiant
Bruno Pernadas - Private Reasons
o'summer vacation - Wicked Heart (user Dewinged does drums on this and it's good) |
Demon of the Fall
07.07.21 | I've listened to virtually nothing this year so my recs are useless, although I'd (2) Isosonouncane (if time allows) and Bruno Pernandes. Nice to see you around tect.
P.S. I also preferred Green Field to the other two. |
Demon of the Fall
07.07.21 | I see you've actually heard Isosausage anyway, put too much faith in WatchItExplode. Okay instead I recommend re-listening to Ad Nauseam & Sweet Trip, then increasing your ratings :-).
You actually seem to have done rather well music-listening wise for a person with 2 kids! I was expecting you to have heard very little from 2021. |

07.07.21 | @Ars: Thanks for the recs, haven’t heard of any of them, so I added em all to the queue.
@Demon: Those will each get another listen or two before the year is up! I have more faith in Ad Naseum growing on me than Sweet Trip, though. Thought that was a bit of a slog tbh. Despite having two kids, my job involves working at a desk/computer 8-10 hours each say, so aside from the times where I have meetings, I’m free to listen to music pretty much the entire time. Works out, I suppose haha.
@dedex: Thought IRA was good, not quite great (3/5). Some great tracks (Jabal, Ojos, Sangre, Hajar) but also a lot of mediocre tracks littered throughout. I don’t mind “long” albums at all but this felt even longer than 109 minutes or whatever it was. Too much filler overall, imo. I could cut maybe six tracks and turn it into a great 11-track album, I think.
@Ghandhi: 🍻 If I’m not mistaken I might’ve gotten the Stella recommendation from one of your lists. Can’t imagine where else I would’ve stumbled upon that. Great stuff. |

07.08.21 | I also just happened to check Seputus - Phantom Indigo yesterday and loved it. It would definitely make this list but I’m too lazy to edit it right now 🥴 |
