Top 35 Korn songs of the 21th century
While i am more a fan of old korn works there are some great songs in their later works.
Here my favorites from untouchables and on
Anyone agrees that coming undone fucking sucks? |
35 | | Korn Untouchables
ONE MORE TIME
one of the most overlooked pieces they wrote |
34 | | Korn Korn III: Remember Who You Are
LEAD THE PARADE
Maybe Silveira fits better Korn's style but Luzier is clearly more skilled and this one explains why |
33 | | Korn Take a Look in the Mirror
HERE IT COMES AGAIN
Another underrated one with the classic clean verse/ raw chorus formula that defines the album |
32 | | Korn The Paradigm Shift
WHAT WE DO
Great dynamic song with some electronic elements |
31 | | Korn The Path of Totality
NARCISSISTIC CANNIBAL
The one and only redeeming song from this garbage album. While i still despise the overused dubstep production the song manages to stay pretty good with a memorable chorus |
30 | | Korn Untouchables
HATING
Mellow song with a powerful melodic chorus |
29 | | Korn The Paradigm Shift
LULLABY FOR A SADIST
An interesting softer song with good musicisnship and pretty good lyrics differently from Never, never which is awful |
28 | | Korn Take a Look in the Mirror
LET'S DO THIS NOW
One of their angriest songs from this album |
27 | | Korn Take a Look in the Mirror
COUNTING ON ME
This one is the most atypical from this angsty album, focusing more on slow burning rhytm and mellow structure contraposed with raspy vocals |
26 | | Korn The Paradigm Shift
SPIKE IN MY VEINS
This single manage to combine electronic elements to alternative metal without oversaturating the whole song, a huge improvement from the previous work |
25 | | Korn The Serenity of Suffering
CALLING ME TOO SOON
This bonus track is more impactful than some of the songs in the album, extremely catchy chorus |
24 | | Korn See You on the Other Side
TWISTED TRANSISTOR
The industrial sound that pervades the whole album works with some of the songs, this single is one of them, while i don't like this album which feels like just a commercial scam (some claims that many songs aren't even written by the band) this one it's pretty remarkable |
23 | | Korn The Serenity of Suffering
EVERYTHING FALLS APART
Morbid atmosphere surrounds this illness-themed track |
22 | | Korn Untitled
KILLING
Untitled can be hit or miss. Killing is indeed one of the best moments in it, surrounded by an experimental industrial sound, much more genuine than SYOTOS. |
21 | | Korn The Serenity of Suffering
DIE YET ANOTHER NIGHT
the verses are insanely good |
20 | | Korn The Paradigm Shift
PARANOID AND AROUSED
I wonder why nobody mention this one, the chorus is extremely catchy, the verses are pretty fine and the raw bridge is an absolute highlight. |
19 | | Korn The Serenity of Suffering
BABY
This bonus should've been a single instead of take me |
18 | | Korn The Nothing
COLD
What an opening |
17 | | Korn The Serenity of Suffering
INSANE
When korn fans listened to this they all hoped the old sound could've been back. They were not disappointed |
16 | | Korn See You on the Other Side
LIAR
this one manages to combine the industrial sound of the album with a more traditional Korn structure. The scat part is reminiscent of FTL times |
15 | | Korn Untitled
EVOLUTION
The only big hit from untitled. Clearly one of the most accessible from it but still manages to contain some experimentations |
14 | | Korn The Nothing
THE RINGMASTER
Short and effective, awesome chorus, the beatboxing is pretty fun too |
13 | | Korn The Paradigm Shift
PREY FOR ME
Listening to this after the paradigm shift has been a sensation of relief. Great Rhytm section and vocal harmonies. |
12 | | Korn Untouchables
HERE TO STAY
Always found it a bit overrated but still a great song. Groovy riffs, memorable chorus and the traditional repeated line in the bridge. This was the first step to the new korn sound. |
11 | | Korn The Nothing
THIS LOSS
The nothing has hands down the most mature writing in moder korn catalogue. JD's dealing with the loss of a loved one is perfectly displayed here. |
10 | | Korn Korn III: Remember Who You Are
POP A PILL
Say what you want about Korn III but this piece is awesome. Funky rhytm section, demented vocals and almost hypnotic atmosphere |
9 | | Korn The Serenity of Suffering
NEXT IN LINE
The terrific building during the main verses leads to a remarkable chorus that will stuck in your head. Almost flawless if it wasn't for that chicken sounding turntables. |
8 | | Korn Untitled
KISS
maybe the most atypical Korn song ever, a gloomy ballad about failed love with even an arc section and industriap drum machine rhytm section. A great underrated experiment. |
7 | | Korn The Nothing
H@RD3R
Sounds like old Korn style with a more polished production. The chorus is great but the highlight is that crescendo that leads to the bridge and then explodes with anger, also that electronic section fits perfectly |
6 | | Korn Take a Look in the Mirror
RIGHT NOW
Nothing complicate, no complex structures, deep lyrics nor great originality.
Just a straight forward pissed off tune of hate. Somehow i always loved this one for no particular reason. |
5 | | Korn The Nothing
IDIOSYNCRACY
A modern day Got the life, what do you want more? |
4 | | Korn The Paradigm Shift
LOVE AND METH
An intense single that combines good songwriting, melancholic lyrics, anger and regret with a great sounding musical piece. |
3 | | Korn The Serenity of Suffering
ROTTING IN VAIN
All that we loved from albums like FTL and Issues can be found in this love letter to old school korn fans. That scat section too... |
2 | | Korn Untouchables
THOUGHTLESS
One of their most iconic choruses ever in this anti-bullying anthem |
1 | | Korn The Nothing
DARKNESS IS REVEALING
To me the best korn song since issues. The bittersweet lyrics about facing a grief are some of the most mature JD has written. The chorus is unforgettable and all the second half of the song is basically better than anything they wrote in years. |
