12.17.21 | I'm just jealous, I also want to do some whiskey tasting. Doesn't look like 1 is for sale in Denmark. |

12.17.21 | Damn! |

12.17.21 | I went on a whiskey tasting thing in Edinburgh a couple of years ago. Probably wasn’t the wisest decision to have sunk about 6 pints before hand in the boozer over the road.
Bowled in, ripped the piss out of the tourists and said whiskey was shit. |

12.17.21 | Nice been wanting to try that Balcone |
Trebor.
12.18.21 | I didn't have a chance to go to a distillery in Ireland but I had some good fucking whisky |
Josh D.
12.18.21 | I haven't had a drink in 17 months. I am a good boy. |
ReefaJones
12.18.21 | I'm pretty much only drinking Lagavulin 16 when it comes to Whisky |
Dedes
12.18.21 | If you ever get the chance try Leadslingers
P straightforward no frills whiskey but it maintains a nice balance of boldness/smoothness. Also Matt Best makes it which instill a massive dose of American Freedom with every swig. |

12.18.21 | I'm not an alcoholic, it's called a smorgasvein and it's elegantly cultural |
BallsToTheWall
12.18.21 | Agreed Colton. |
Egarran
12.18.21 | If I was rich I would def be a fancy whiskey alcoholic.
I've found that price pretty much follows quality when it comes to alcohol. |
BallsToTheWall
12.18.21 | Yeah but for whiskey you can find a lot of gems around $40-$60. Found some whiskeys at Total Wine for like $4k and was like lol what! |
Egarran
12.18.21 | Yeah ok I admit I've never tried that price range. Is it 100 years old? Is that stuff even whiskey anymore and not some kind of godlike precum? |
Parallels
12.18.21 | I usually just aim for the 30-55$ range and see what I get. I recently tried Old Pulteney's 12 year single malt scotch whiskey. It's a breathy bit, fairly smooth but I mean it's got like a beach air taste to it, almost a salt tinge. I thought it was worth trying but wouldn't get it again. Very unique and memorable taste. Would match it with a playlist of Teddies, a.k.a. Teddy Stauffer's 30's swing and lounge jazz. |

12.18.21 | Been getting into Scottish whisky lately. Ardbeg is amazing. Johnnie Walker Green Label was a nice surprise. A fresh but smoky touch, most likely from the Caol Ila blend. I'll buy a Blue Label for Christmas, long overdue to try it.
Also, Jameson Black Barrel is good. Makes me forget about the standard one. |
BallsToTheWall
12.18.21 | I’m in the same boat as Parallels. |
BallsToTheWall
12.18.21 | And awesome, will bookmark Insomniac. |

12.18.21 | those super expensive whiskeys at total wine are hilarious ya
never really liked any sort of liquor myself though, cant tell much of a difference between whiskeys |
BallsToTheWall
12.18.21 | Whiskey either stands out, tastes the same or tastes like a 6 month air filter. |
Egarran
12.18.21 | And if you taste the kind that stands out, you're kinda fucked. E.g. I remember my first Talisker better than most other first things. |
ReefaJones
12.19.21 | yeah Ardbeg is great too. If I couldn't get my hands on Lagavulin I'd opt for that |
Parallels
12.19.21 | I dont change my air filters for years so a 6 month old air filter isn't very intimidating. |
Meridiu5
12.19.21 | i love ardbeg. tastes like straight up caramel creosote.
bought toki jap whiskey because it was on sale super cheap. it's like red label except no astringent notes and it doesn't give you a hangover. |

12.19.21 | Talisker is great indeed and Lagavulin is easier to find in bars to taste than Ardbeg. Also, Laphroaig is one of the most interesting ones I tasted yet. The smoky sour taste is something else. I can't drink more than two rounds, just like Ardbeg, it's too heavy.
Regarding Japanese whiskey, I only drank Tenjaku. It was interesting, a bit spicy, but the import price makes me reconsider buying again. |
ReefaJones
12.19.21 | Which bars do you go to where they have Lagavulin lol. |
Egarran
12.19.21 | >Laphroaig
Oh yeah that'll put hair on yer chest |

12.19.21 | Irish pub types are popular here in Romania. Some of them have a decent variety of whiskeys. Thankfully, a fair number of Scottish ones are found there as well. Lagavulin is at the posh end, of course. |

12.19.21 | Laphroaig >>>>>>> all |

02.11.22 | I was hoping to get back into music reviewing but turns out nope. I’m excited to write about whiskey however. Two more good ones I got were Balcones Rumble and Highland Park Viking Honour. |

02.11.22 | I’m relatively new to it but it’s growing on me. Def want to explore more single malts. |

02.11.22 | Balvanie Double Wood is really nice as is Lagavulin 8 (for their and as starters). There's another one I can never remember the name of but when I get home I'll find it for ya. |

02.11.22 | Bookmarked! Thanks. |

02.12.22 | My mom got me a Dalwhinnie 15 for Christmas. Really smooth and fruity. No smoke. I like it. |

02.12.22 | Sounds delicious. Got a gift card so spent that obviously. On Woodfard’s Rye and my favorite Gin called Purity. |

02.12.22 | My buddy is a huge whiskey fan. We were in Chicago a couple years ago at a hotel bar and he spent like $300 on a single pour. I wanna say it was a super rare McCallum like 75 or something. He said it was worth it lol
U dig voivod balls? New 1 killz |

02.13.22 | couple bottles of wild turkey mixed with shit ass pepsi >> overpriced marketed single malts on the rocks. because the former actually has enough sugar to counteract what can only be called 40% paint thinner... unlike single malts which rely on you visualizing smouldering peat bogs and north sea squalls in order for you to enjoy the idea of it. source: me studied oenology |
