Florence and The Machine

Finally finished doing a deep dive of Florence and company's studio albums. Here is my ranking for an incredible artist.
5Florence and the Machine
Ceremonials

Still a very good record with a couple of her most recognizable hits but feels a bit long and bloated at times with some of the songs not as well crafted as the bigger hits. Love the instrumentation throughout the record along with Florence's belting. 3.8/5
4Florence and the Machine
Dance Fever

Their latest offering is fun, poignant and full of soul. Lots of great cuts, a heavier emphasis on danceable rhythms compared to High as Hope. 4/5
3Florence and the Machine
How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful

A really lovely blend between what was to come on High As Hope and the more danceable songs on Lungs and Ceremonials. A lot of stellar tracks with a couple lesser ones. 4/5
2Florence and the Machine
High as Hope

A bit more subtle and stripped back with calculated moments of bombast. The lyrics and vocal performances are the standout for me with exceptional diction and themes. The instrumentals while a bit minimalist at times still can pack a punch. 4.5/5
1Florence and the Machine
Lungs

Their first record is bombastic, gorgeous lyrically and sonically, diverse instrumentally and the songwriting is stellar to the point of jaw dropping. It's rare for me to view an artist's first record as their best but with Florence, it's gonna be hard for her to overcome the standard she set with this one. 5/5
