10.29.22 | Saw these guys live in MTL last week, they played 5 songs for a grand total of 50 minutes hahaha. They played 3 songs from this list to start the set, I was happy. |

10.29.22 | Nice list, surprised by the lack of Colors but also appreciate the hot takes! I’ve been meaning to make a list like this soon. Disease Injury and Madness should be top 5 in my opinion |
Emim
10.30.22 | All Bodies and Selkies are probably my favorites. Mordecai is up there too |
combustion07
10.30.22 | Don't jam this band often and have only listened to a few of their earlier albums but Backwards Marathon from Alaska has always been my favorite |
Titan
10.30.22 | Lots of great cuts here! Mine would look like this in random order:
Selkies
Ad a Dglgmut
Sun of Nothing
Ants of the Sky
White Walls
Disease, Injury, Madness
Lay Your Ghosts To Rest
The Proverbial Bellow
Revolution In Limbo
Never Seen / Future Shock |
BigPleb
10.30.22 | I'd throw Mirrors in there, what an opener. |
dustandnations
10.30.22 | 1 is 1!!! |
Shemson
10.30.22 | Decent list this but my own personal nostalgia puts 8, 9 and 10 as 1, 2 and 3. |

10.30.22 | Parallax II is where they found the best balance between songwriting and being batshit insane. I like Colors more than I used to but I still find it to be a mess and not a lot of it clicks with me still. Colors II is pretty great but it overall feels a bit tame at times for an album called Colors II.
And yes dubsandnations Lay Your Ghosts To Rest isn't talked about nearly enough as this band's top song. That chorus is magnificent and right when the heavy parts are about to get annoying they get into thats soft transition. It's the perfect release of tension at the perfect time. The whole thing hits every single time I listen to it. |
Titan
10.30.22 | Agreed on Lay Your Ghosts…..easily one of their very best |
BigBoofZone
10.30.22 | The Parallax II picks are *chefs kiss* |
Assemblage
10.30.22 | My top ten from the list I recently made:
1. White Walls
2. Lunar Wilderness
3. The Double Helix of Extinction
4. Prequel to the Sequel
5. Mordecai
6. Melting City
7. Viridian
8. Human Is Hell (Another One with Love)
9. Silent Flight Parliament
10. Sun Of Nothing
Telos and Ghosts haven't ever been at the top for me, so the Parallax II picks are most divergent here even though it's pretty standard fare for top spots for most.
Nothing has ever topped Colors.

10.30.22 | Decent list for my taste. I’m wondering what you think of the parallax EP - it’s my favorite thing of theirs. |

10.30.22 | I quite like Specular Reflection and Lunar Wilderness but not enough to put them here. Probably could've put one of them as an honorable mention. But the songs suffer in a same way that the ones on Colors do for me. Some of it feels like filler and non-sequitur riffs stuck one after another. Lunar Wilderness in particular suffers from this. I love the beginning and the end but the whole heavy section does nothing for me. |
PitchforkArms
10.31.22 | I can see that. Specular Reflection is my ATF from them.
Let me maybe assemble my tracks...... |
AlexKzillion

10.31.22 | Disease injury madness and ants gotta be there |
nash1311
10.31.22 | Alex that list is pretty close to what I would pick |
PitchforkArms
10.31.22 | Alex, we ain't to far apart, great selection of tracks - love seeing the Mirrors love, track makes me feel a type of way |
nash1311
10.31.22 | As I age I think the 3 track run of Mirrors/Ob/DIM is their finest hour |
PitchforkArms
10.31.22 | I don't hate that take at all.
Mirrors/Obfuscation is, to my ears, such a focused effort by them. It's not nearly as off-the-wall or ridiculous as some of their other arrangements - really has a feel that it is driving home throughout. And then D,I,M is a bit whacky but in the best way, and not in the "normal" whacky prog way - it just works |
peartnoy
10.31.22 | To be honest Mirrors and Veridian are two of my favorite tracks from them but for some reason I don't count them as actual songs, more like intros/interludes kinda thing.
And I know my tracks from TGM aren't those that people will usually pick but they were the first tracks that actually made me fall in love with the band so there is that. Obfuscation was an actual song written by BTBAM for like the first time and I was so impressed. And Swim To the Moon is just heavier Dream Theater, which is what Parallax II ended up being as well. Scratches that itch perfectly haha.
