onionbubs
12.17.22 | and most of those songs do own! im pretty lukewarm on green/document, and havent really spent enough time w monster to uh get adjusted to crush with eyeliner yet lol but other than that i love all those tracks
love seeing monty in the top 5. that lil mandolin riff break between the vocal melody is one of my fav moments in their discog |
Sinternet
12.17.22 | based wolves, lower pick, my 1 personally |
ArsMoriendi
12.17.22 | If you revisit anything from Green, World Leader Pretend is the one to go back to |
DoofDoof
12.17.22 | ‘Laughing’ is underrated for sure
‘Find the River’ is an easy top pick for me, then maybe ‘Fall On Me’ and ‘Welcome to the Occupation’
I have a soft spot for ‘Sweetness Follows’ and ‘Life and How to Live It’, dunno if they’d make top 10 but close
|

Kompys2000
12.18.22 | Oh right on good shout on crush w eyeliner ars
Monster is such a weird janky early attempt to set a template for punk/alt informed stadium rock that didn't sound like U2, there's an alternate timeline where the Rosetta stone of big mainstream millennial guitar emotion is eyeliner or "Star 69" and not, uh... "Who's Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses" ig? |
bigguytoo9
12.18.22 | I do love Nightswimming for sure. |
EoinCofa
12.18.22 | Top 6 in any order:

12.18.22 | damn i completely forgot about this sorry y'all lmao. lotta great picks itt almost threw wendell gee and old man kensey on here myself |
IsisScript80
12.18.22 | They were an awesome band... been so long since I dove into their discog, I couldn't come up with anything like a top 20 or whatever, but I know the aforementioned 'Drive' would be there, as well as the (IMO) brilliant 'E-Bow the Letter' with Patti Smith. |
zakalwe
12.18.22 | Oh yeah I forgot about E-Bow and Electrolite as well.
|
onionbubs
12.20.22 | maaaaaaaaaan flowers of guatemala j huge clicked so ig bye bye ignoreland lol |

Ryus
02.25.23 | 8 is a very surprising pick lol. 11 is amazing tho props for that one |
Ryus
02.25.23 | oh idk lmao maybe im the weird one

Ryus
02.25.23 | rip ur comment |
onionbubs
02.25.23 | (accidentally deleted this trying to edit it lmao)
damn do people not dig 8? i love that song lol i think its beautiful. i guess its a lil un rem like compared to the rest but its soo shimmery and pretty it just sends me to heaven lol. feels like the heart of fables to me
amazing amazing album tho would 5 if not for auctioneer (which is still good i j think it sits in a weird spot) |
onionbubs
02.25.23 | yea lmao the dangers of mobile sputting |
onionbubs
02.25.23 | i dig cant get there from here but it would be my least fav otherwise lol. i think its a lot of fun tho and provides a nice bit of momentum out of moody ass old man kensey (which would be super high on the big list im gonna do what a tune) |
Ryus
02.25.23 | the first three from fables and wendell gee would all probably make my top 20 |
onionbubs
02.25.23 | righteous righteous picks id put driver 8 in the top 20 now too prob and maps isnt far off it either. love the flow of those 3 songs too kick the album off in such a cool way gives it this like mysterious vibe
and wendell gee is also an absolute beaut. honestly i think the reason auctioneer kinda sticks out to me in a negative way is bc green grow onwards the songs on fables lean much more into that gentle lovely side of the band so its always mad clashed dropped where it is to me, but i really dig how smoothly that album (for the most part) takes you from the moodier side a to the warmer side b |
Rowan5215
02.25.23 | Good Advices is lovely and some of Stipe's best lyrics I'm with ya there |
Ryus
02.25.23 | interesting, i always perceived it as one of the lesser songs on the album for whatever reason. |
Rowan5215
02.25.23 | I can't stand Wendell Gee so it's okay we just disagree lmao |
onionbubs
02.25.23 | and thus the scales of the universe were balanced and restored lmao
i really like wendell gee myself but that one i can def understand not vibing with. also think the mike mills piano version >> og all the way (as it often is lol) |
Ryus
03.24.23 | i was wrong about 8 its beautiful |
onionbubs
03.24.23 | i love to see it |
Rowan5215
03.25.23 | the character arc in action folks hell yes |
Ryus
03.25.23 | 11 is just so absurdly good. and 6. and 9. best band |
Ryus
03.25.23 | finna make a list ranking every song from their IRS years be on the lookout |
