| Albums I Like, but a Lot of People Don't | 1 | | Sleep Token Take Me Back to Eden
Yeah, I like this album. Yes, I also am Gen Z. Yes, there may be correlation here. But "Rain", "Chokehold", "The Summoning", and the title track still rank among some of my favorite jams from the year. | 2 | | Black Veil Brides Wretched and Divine
Admittedly, I wrote this album off without giving it a fair shot. It's grandiose, overly dramatic, with simple lyrics, and a paper-thin story. It also is insanely catchy, with great guitars, and just a general sense of fun that permeates everything. I still prefer Phantom Tomorrow and The Mourning, but I will happily relisten to this any day of the week. | 3 | | Coheed and Cambria Vaxis II: A Window of the Waking Mind
Is this disliked by the majority of this site? Is it half and half? It's a divisive album, that's for sure. But damn if I don't love it. Also, the final 3-track suite is one of the best things they've written in years, though I know that's a low bar to clear considering the other notable album they dropped besides the Vaxis albums has been Color Before the Sun | 4 | | I Prevail TRAUMA
Okay, let it be known that some songs on this album do suck. But "DOA", "Bow Down", "Hurricane", and "Rise Above It" still find their ways onto my playlists every now and then. | 5 | | Motionless in White Scoring the End of the World
Another case of it not being hated, but certainly divisive? I've seen just as much hate as I have love for this album. Personally, it's one of my favorite core records of 2022. From "Meltdown" to "Slaughterhouse" to "Werewolf" to "Cyberhex" and beyond, I can't talk bad about this album. It was too fun a listen, and I can't say I dislike an album when I was headbanging as hard as I was | |

12.03.23 | check shiner (May 13, 1967 – December 13, 2001) was an American musician. He founded the pioneering death metal band Death in 1983, in which he was the lead vocalist, guitarist, primary songwriter and only continuous member until his death in 2001. His obituary in the January 5, 2002, issue of Kerrang! described him as "one of the most significant figures in the history of metal."[1] | Purpl3Spartan

12.03.23 | 1 is something that was bound to happen. With the joke being that is "gen z metal", it becomes a part of a never ending cycle of stereotyping music. Like the rise of thrash, angry ass white milf moms were worried about their teenagers worshipping the devil because of the symbolism on the cover and just in the sound alone. I'm not comparing the sex moan pop djent band's sound to thrash, all I am saying is: it is going to get hated on, because the older people get, the less they are to appreciate something new.
And also, TikTok ruins everything and they are known just for that, so please get off the app, it is doing nothing for you. | AnimalForce1
12.03.23 | TikTok ruins a lot of things, but it also makes me laugh occasionally, so... | AnimalForce1

12.04.23 | I fully listened to Sleep Token, and its not bad, there is a lot of soul and cool little melodies in their album. Vessels voice kinda irritates me at times though. | SuzyC
12.04.23 | C&C is the only band/artist here I've ever heard of; yeah, listened to them a number of times. If I remember correctly, they weren't bad. And as hinted at above, whatever music YOU like is music that's right for you. That's definitely my attitude towards music. | Ladron93
12.11.23 | I like Sleep Token's album in this year. ^^ | AeniasGaming

12.15.23 | Don't take anything you read on this site too seriously. Some folks have been pulling the edgy hipster stuff since before I joined and they just like to bitch anything that they don't favor that gets vaguely popular. Musical elitism frequently goes unchecked. lol |
