DoofDoof: Doof’s Top Shows 2023

DoofDoof 01.27.24	Compared to last year this was a really thin effort for TV shows (https://www.sputnikmusic.com/list.php?memberid=1121802&listid=202111) What did I miss that was good or amusingly bad?

zakalwe 01.27.24	Just cannot be fucked with any of it. Other than sport in all honesty I have probably watched less than about 30 things in the past four or five years. Recently Society of the Snow, Oppenheimer that Post Office scandal thing and the Traitors have all been excellent though.
DoofDoof 01.27.24	Jesus, if you can make it through four eps of the Post Office scandal you can watch anything. I abandoned that (will add to the list) and let the wife finish watching it on her own - I'll read about that one, nothing to dramatise! Nice actor of course but it bored me to tears, 'Gold' was a better true story drama than that this year!
DoofDoof 01.27.24	My wife's family are a family of 'sports' - they mainly just watch sport. they follow the footy, the cricket, the F1, anything at international level where england are represented to some degree. The sister-in-law works in sports media so she gets to meet a load of the big names - this year Tyson Fury, Rio Ferdinand, Gary Neville, some cricketers but I know nothing of cricket...
markjamie 01.27.24	Pretty good ranking I think, but I'd have Last of Us much higher and add Happy Valley, Reservation Dogs, The Great, Somebody Somewhere, Beef, Poker Face, Yellowjackets and maybe Hijack (which was stupid but fun) to the 7/10 or above tiers. Billions disappointed me a bit though - last episode was surprisingly weak and Axe was wasted.
DoofDoof 01.27.24	Gary Oldman is the best boss/spy/detective character in a long long long time though - his best ever role and that's saying something at least. This wasn't the best season of Slow Horses though, got a little too silly at times.
DoofDoof 01.27.24	mj - will check some of those if possible, thanks Billions had some 'roll back the years' quality episodes but your criticisms are valid, seemed that Axe could only be filmed in certain locations for a start! Blatantly plotted around his availability! The Last of Us started ok but I had to force myself through it by the end. Promised much, then plodded.
markjamie 01.27.24	Aah... that explains the Axe thing. Really hope Giamatti wins the Oscar this year but I think he's destined to just miss.
