| My life is a record[ed] 1 | 1 | | Rammstein Sehnsucht
When I used to shit diapers, my dad always put this on. | 2 | | The Prodigy The Fat of the Land
When I used to shit diapers, my dad always put this on. [2]
(You're gonna find my dad influenced (directly and less directly) my music taste a lot) | 3 | | K3 5 Jaar Hun Grootste Hits
This was my kidz bop. | 4 | | Dead Can Dance Aion
Apparently I used to do a lot of freestyle dancing (4/5 years old) to this, although I only know this because I was told. Once again my dad always put this on. | 5 | | Michael Jackson The Essential Michael Jackson
Thriller and Off the Wall were my first own musical steps (I really liked smooth criminal as a small boy, which I later realised was on none of the two records), gifted to my 'round christmastime. I sometimes put on Blood on the Dancefloor and You Rock My World these days. | 6 | | Janet Jackson Icon: Number Ones
A certain amount of time later, me and my dad went shopping, and he (in the literal sense of the word) recommended me MJ's sister, "I wouldn't be dissappointed". Although not in my personal top 10 oat, I love me some Janet Jackson (Velvet Rope is a classic) | 7 | | Kraftwerk Autobahn
When I used to shit diapers, my dad always put this on. [3]
Kraftwerk is a group that got played a lot in our house, The Man Machine especially. Very easy on the ears, it 's been a childhood fave (not just for me) around the same time the Prodigy was shaping my mind. Autobahn specifically is tied to the memory of a summervacation. Every year, we'd take my dad's old Soviet rustbucket (in a loving way) on roadtrip to our vacation destination. On the way back, the car would break down, delaying our arrival at home. This, of course, was very annoying for little 8 (or smth) year old me. One year however, whilst driving over the autobahn to our little country of the Netherlands, we made it, while this (obviously) played. That was bliss. | 8 | | Pink Floyd The Wall
Not a band i really listen to, but another brick in the wall definitely gave me an idea of what kind person my dad was when he, like me at the time, was going through puberty | 9 | | Skrillex Bangarang
From age X to at least 14 i had this weird phase where i kinda forgot music existed and either was listening to top40 music, dubstep, or some other edm stuff. This was my "Monstercat" phase. | 10 | | Iron Maiden The Number of the Beast
One day, while bored, looking for new music on my phone, my dad, clicking away on his computer, mentioned, somewhat jokingly: "Try Iron Maiden. Y'know, 666! The number of the beast!" I was hooked for a good 6 months or so... | 11 | | Sodom Sodom
However, Iron Maidens sound wasn;t cutting it after a while. I needed something heavier. After being somewhat dissapointed with Megadeth, and not bothering with Metallica, I discovered german thrash metal. This (City of God mostly) and some Kreator stuff was what I listened to for a good while | 12 | | $uicideboy$ High Tide In The Snake's Nest
I also recently discovered mixtapemonkey around this time (and how to convert youtube to mp3). So, for some weird reason, I started hyperfixating on the massive discography these guys had put out up until that point.
