10.22.24 | Damn bro/sister, we have nearly identical tastes. I could banish like 5 of these records and replace with some minus the bear and CRJ to make a shape that would fit right into my heart |
JMNewcomer25
10.22.24 | @cylinder man great recs. I already know mirage by camel. one of my favorite 70s prog records. Same with thick as a brick. Vaudeville Villain, Daydream Nation, The Argument... all fantastic as well and will be in my top 100 when I post that. I'll check out some of those recs I haven't heard |
JMNewcomer25
10.22.24 | @Damnvanne hell yeah man! Just curious which ones would you replace lol |
AsleepInTheBack
10.22.24 | For more like 44 (but also really fucking not) check Albert Ayler - Live in Greenwich Village (Complete Recordings)
Same big band third stream ish vibe with a more free jazz / spiritual jazz / marching band (at times) flavour |
DamnVanne
10.22.24 | Actually I could just cut Nick Drake and Swans and be in love with this. And since we’re twinning here, I can say with almost total certainty that you would love Alcest- all albums and Maserati- all albums |
DamnVanne
10.22.24 | Also Fear Before and CannbalOx. Those were rock solid recs |
JMNewcomer25
10.23.24 | Gonna put on that CannibalOx record tomorrow at work |
efp123
10.23.24 | There’s a reason 22 is beloved by many. Cool list |
JMNewcomer25
10.23.24 | @efp123 yeah man one of the most creative albums of the 2000s |
cylinder
10.23.24 | "Gonna put on that CannibalOx record tomorrow at work"

JohnnyoftheWell
10.23.24 | weird scrolling through a list like this without seeing any mewithoutyou |
JMNewcomer25
10.23.24 | @johnyofthewell they would have made it in my top 100 which I'll be doing soon. Great band
@cylinder fantastic album dude. Just from my first listen it's already a 4.5 for me. Gonna put it in my constant rotation for a while |
cylinder
10.23.24 | sick! glad you liked it so much. def a top 100er for me |
DamnVanne
10.23.24 | CanOx is definitely still my favorite hip-hop record- followed by a few other that El-P has done. He’s my favorite icon in the industry and the #1 guy I would love to smoke crack with |
BallsToTheWall
10.23.24 | Death, Kate Bush and No-Man, I dig it! |
cylinder
10.24.24 | "CanOx is definitely still my favorite hip-hop record- followed by a few other that El-P has done."

JMNewcomer25
10.24.24 | Gonna have to check out all these recs |
cylinder
10.24.24 | one more for hip-hop: Genelec and Memphis Reigns - Scorpion Circles |
JMNewcomer25
10.24.24 | I'll check that as well hell yeah. You familiar with 13 on my list? Also specifically looking for stuff similar to that, aside from obvious ones like Circa Survive etc |
cylinder
10.24.24 | haven't listened to them actually |
JMNewcomer25
10.24.24 | @cylinder you might dig em man. Their first record is generally considered way better than my pick. They could definitely be considered similar to Circa Survive genre wise but they combine some progressive influence with an indie/alt sound. Solid stuff imo |
cylinder
10.24.24 | might give it a check, looks pretty interesting |
