11.24.24 | There's a lot that could be said in response to this, but the most basic summation is that the site needs a full time coder, which would require a large monetary investment given the amount of issues the site currently has. Mx has a family and a full-time job, so throwing money at it is a tough sell. Free time has also been a major obstacle. It's my understanding that he has indeed been paying out of pocket to keep the lights on, mostly out of nostalgia and because he loves the site he created when he was just a grad student. What contact I've had with him has led me to believe that (1) he genuinely still cares about the place, and (2) he's currently mulling his options. However, even I don't know what decision he will make or when. |
