| CD Mix - 1999
1999 were the days of Napster. I was in College - with a T1 internet connection - and my friends and I were all about obtaining rare tracks or remixes. I remember jamming Incubus - Make Yourself album off Napster for 1-2 weeks before it came out - felt so special to have an early version (ended up buying the CD anyways - and still have it). My friend DB, who went to the same school, gave me a short Mix CD of random tracks and remixes. Not great tracks (especially tracks 1 and 2), but the remainder indicative of the random stuff that one would obtain off Napster - before Metallica took Napster out in 2000. | 1 | | Bush The Science of Things

01.28.25 | Everything about life was better around 2000. Everything. Will never forget the Limewire days and looking for “slipnot” and “Lincoln park” downloads. | zakalwe

Bless ya | zakalwe
01.28.25 | Life was better.
That’s not rose tints or wishing I was young or now becoming a grumpy old sod talk.
The fact was, we all had our innocence and now it’s lost forever because of the hell that is social media. Internet, 24hr news and forced political agenda.
21st century is shit. | JDubb
01.28.25 | Limewire! That was my goto after Napster - but recall it not being quite as good as Napster was at its height. I ultimately went back to media (CDs). Got sick of the variable quality of downloadable MP3’s at that time - 128 kb/s sucked and 160 kb/swas OK. | JDubb
01.28.25 | @Zakalwe, yeah man. Back in 2000 - you could do shit w/o ending up on someone’s iPhone. | Relinquished
01.28.25 | lol has that happened to you | KjSwantko
01.30.25 | Pre-social media life was dope. And agreed the 24/7 political agenda and conflict is awful too. |
