21st Birthday Buying Spree

My family are awesome - rather than try and negotiate my "obscure" musical taste, or buy me other random presents, they just give me money. Which is kickass!
1Fugazi
Red Medicine

I'd passed over this band a lot, but I do own their first two albums. After giving them another few listens, I realised the awesomeness I'd somehow missed on previous listens. This was recommended to me as the best one to go for next, and truly, 'tis reet gud!
2Fugazi
Furniture

So good in fact that I went back to the music shop and got this...
3Fugazi
End Hits

...this...
4Fugazi
In on the Kill Taker

...and this one...
5Fugazi
The Argument

...and ordered this one off t'interweb!
6 Jetplane Landing
There Is No Courage Unless There Is Real Danger E.P.

An E.P. apparently. In price (a fiver), yes, but in tracklist, surely not!!! The radio edit of the title track, some radio sessions, some acoustic demos, and a full live set. Running time of over 70 minutes, all of them kickass. That's value for money kids!
7 Jetplane Landing
Brave Gravity E.P.

Despite that, I felt I needed two more b-sides too!
8 Hot Water Music
Live at the Hardback

Not entirely sure why I've left it so long to get this, but it's about fucking time I finished my HWM collection!
9 Leatherface
Cherry Knowle

Didn't even know this was still in print! This is why I love randomly browsing CD shops.

Waiting for the Next End of the World

After getting hooked on Jawbox's first two albums, as well as Burning Airlines, I figured I'd get J. Robbins' newest project's album, owing to him having something of a midas touch when it comes to writing music.

For Your Own Special Sweetheart

...Had to get these two secondhand off Amazon, because apparently the record company that released them is full of such arseholes that they didn't realise the awesomeness they had on their roster, and deleted these two fine albums. Bastards.

One Time for All Time

Damn, that's some boring-ass artwork. Awesome band/album though, now I only need to find the Hole E.P.
14Architects
Hollow Crown

If only all the twats who bought Bring Me the Hairspray's newest one had saved their cash and got this instead, maybe then the "UK's Brightest New Metal Hopes" title would finally be rightfully given to these guys, instead of those befringed cunts in BMTH. /rant
15Dead to Me
Little Brother

Took a few listens of the online stream before I realised the brilliance of this EP, but I'm glad I did. Even better than their debut! Hopefully there'll be another full-length soon.
16 The Ruined
Hear Lies

An old friend of mine kept telling me to check out her boyfriend's band. Should have taken her advice before now, these guys are a pretty awesome blend of pre-95 Offspring, and Shut Your Mouth-era AFI. Catchy as fuck horror punk.
17 Liberty 37
God Machine

The "You'll Thank Us for This" feature in RockSound magazine has been pretty helpful in the past in bringing up random awesome albums that have kinda become lost classics, and this one's no different. Somewhere between nu-metal and post-hardcore, but epic and catchy as fuck. Also, only 2.99 in a clearance bin. Score!
18 Far
Water and Solutions

Been meaning to check this out since I heard 36CrazyFists' cover of "Mother Mary." Another "finally-got-round-to-it" purchase.
19Open Hand
The Dream

It was songs off this that got me into the band a few years ago, but inexplicably, I bought the other album and left this one 'til now to get. *facepalm*
20Drive Like Jehu
Drive Like Jehu

It's Drive Like fuckin' Jehu man, do I even need an explanation for this?!
