01.27.09 | Most talented member of Dragonforce is Sam Totman. Herman Li is better at soloing but Sam can actually reproduce his riffs and is actually a pretty good rhythm guitarist. |
Asiatic667
01.27.09 | Slipknot: I don't listen to them but maybe the drummer? I've heard he's like the most dedicated member.
Metallica: They say it's not Lars Ulrich.
anyway, how can you be MORE talented than others? Everyone has their own thing they are good at
Calvin and Hobbes rules, btw |
Mendigo
01.27.09 | Cynic: the lead guitarist/vocalist guy
Dream Theater: Petrucci, by far
Metallica: kirk I suppose
Opeth: harhar, you guess
Chili Peppers: well, it once used to be Flea, but nowadays its definitely Frusciante
Rush: Neil Part
Slipknot: probably the mask designer
Tool: Danny Carey
for the others I either can't decide who's the most talented one, or I don't care |

01.27.09 | 6 - Impossible to decide really. Probably Petrucci, but only by a whisker - if we're talking about songwriting talent, though, then Portnoy. Honestly, LaBrie and Myung wouldn't be close behind Portnoy in songwriting rather than technicality, but they're all basically vituosos anyway.
9 - Kirk Hammett. Hetfield's good, as far as rhythm guitarists go he's up there with the best, but he's clearly not on the playing level of Hammett.
10 - I forgot the singer's name, but him. Really good voice (at least if you like his tone).
13 - Flea by a long way. Frusciante's alright, he can write well, but his talent isn't in his technical ability. Chad Smith's just slightly above-par.
15 - Jordison - Corey Taylor can't scream to save his life, the guitarists are just average thrash (not bad, just nothing great), the bassist is really average but Jordison's fairly good (though overrated by quite a few people).
16 - Danny Carey. Ridiculously technical AND a fantastic writer. One of my absolute favourite drummers along with Portnoy and Josh Freese.

01.27.09 | opps i meant justin chancellor for Tool my bad. |
VicariousIntent
01.28.09 | 2. The Rev. He contributes the most. Besides his drum talents, he plays piano and even composes full songs. He wrote all of Afterlife after all. Synyster doesn't even come close to that.
3. Paul Waggoner...Blake comes so damn close though. But Paul really pushes the band above and beyond.
4. It's impossible to decide that.
6. How could you possibly decide between all of them? All the four instrumentalists are neck and neck here, it's impossible to decide between them...they're all icons for their respective instruments.
7. This is trickier than you might think. I'm gonna play the wild card here and say on earlier albums, Jesper Stromblad. The guitar lines drove the albums. Later, I think the guitars took a back seat to Daniel Scensson's drums. He's what made each song unique and drove them forward. In the middle of all this, Anders drives them up emotionally and in my opinion prevents them from being too mediocre.
8. Chris Adler, that's not too tough. Lamb of God's guitar lines become boring after awhile, Chris does everything he can to keep people on edge with his drum parts.
9. James Hetfield. Kirk is a better guitar player, but James write all the music. Kirk just solos over it, really. All the memorable riffs belong to him. So James.
11. Mikael...come on man. Mikael.
12. Not sure actually.
14. Geddy Lee. Neil is great, but musically, Geddy is contributing the most.
15. Joey Jordison. He's one of the most exciting and talented drummers on the metal scene, and he contributes A LOT to Slipknot, despite all the members. He's always writing something new for Slipknot and always coming up with more ideas for it. He's definitely a huge part of the sound, and stands out in the deafening roar of their sound to make them something else. Definitely him.
16. Danny Carey. Tool is a fantastic band. A phenomenal band even. Danny is probably the biggest reason they are. All the most complex and fantastic parts of Tool's music are all on account of Danny's drum parts. His poly-rhythms and use of unique percussion take the band above and beyond. That's the staple of Tool's sound, and that's what makes them so interesting. Danny takes Tool from being a great band to a fantastic one, simply by being amazing at what he does. Danny, without a doubt, is the most talented member. |

9 Metallica - Cliff Burton
10 Nevermore - Jeff Loomis
11 Opeth - Mikael Akerfeldt
13 Red Hot Chili Peppers - Flea
14 Rush - Neil Peart
16 Tool - Danny Carey
As for Metallica: I've seen Kirk Hammet listed, but he is really not that talented. The most overrated guitarist ever. My brother has been playing guitar for a year and he can already play every Hammet solo. He is a one-trick pony. |
Masochist
01.28.09 | Dream Theater, gotta be John Petrucci.
Red Hot Chili Peppers...wow, can't say. I actually really like all four members of the band for what they bring. Flea deserves all the praise he gets, as he's probably the best all-around bassist in popular music today (not only because he can play, but also because he can come up with lines that are distinct yet mesh with the song really well; also because of his versatility). John Frusciante, as loved as he is, is still very underrated, but as One Hot Minute showed us, the band would not be the same without him. |
