07.11.09 | These are all great.

07.11.09 | try them all out | Zoo
07.11.09 | 9, 13, 19-22, 25, 27, and 30.
That's it. Mostly everything else is more or less a waste of time. | Masochist
07.11.09 | Geez...that IS way too long. So much good stuff...where to begin?
Well...let's divide it up. You've got some Christian Hard Rock on here, and of that, I'd start with either As I Lay Dying or Norma Jean (earlier stuff of both).
You've got some Indie/Folk on here...of all those, you might start out with Elliot Smith and John Frusciante, then work your way to Damien Rice, Nick Drake and Iron & Wine.
You've also got some nice Indie/Pop/Rock, etc. I'd start with Jimmy Eat World's 'Futures' or Sunny Day Real Estate's 'Diary' (as a fan of Anberlin), then work your way towards Minus The Bear.
Choose any of those paragraphs to work on, in any order.
BUT!!!...
...the first c.d.'s I recommend you get, from all of this list, right now, download them, at this moment, would be:
At The Drive-In - 'Relationship of Command'
...the second would be:
Weezer - 'Weezer' (a.k.a. 'The Blue Album')
...and the third would be:
Fair To Midland - 'Fables From A Mayfly...'
Those three are essential. Those should be the next three albums you pick up. | ninjuice
07.11.09 | Definitely skip 11, 14, 15, and 17. | TricksterGRex
07.11.09 | Don't listen to any faggots who claim John Frusciante to be a waste of time. His albums should be top priority along with Sun Kil Moon. | cirq
07.11.09 | JF is a boss, shadows collide with people is faaaantastic | AmericnZero02
07.11.09 | Oh, Sleeper is solid. | pneumoniahawk93
07.11.09 | Good list.
I would suggest you get these: (in order)
25, 23, 1, 13, 18, 22, 3, 4.
Avoid Trivium at all costs. | Yotimi
07.11.09 | Sunny Day Real Estate: How It Feels To Be Something On if you want their best. Diary if you want the most "important". Rising Tide if you want the most polished. | Choco19

07.11.09 | Interesting to see 12 on the list | brainsheldis
07.11.09 | 21 21 21 21 21 21 21 21 21 21 | BigTuna
07.19.09 | Haste the Day - Burning Bridges
The only Haste album that's worth checking out. I'm endeared to it. If you don' t wanna check out the whole album, just listen to American Love. | Shrapnel94
07.19.09 | Fuck it all and just get every album by 21. | ninjuice
07.19.09 | oh, sleeper are insanely boring. Get the song of the new Tooth and Nail sampler and hope the new album is good, but otherwise....meh. | Chewie
07.19.09 | AFI and Weezer | atrink
07.19.09 | 18, 16, 4, and older 11 | TRMshadow
10.11.09 | I recommend:
5. Decent metalcore, have a couple good songs but not a breakthrough band
6. A Christian Metalcore band, I liked them for a while, now I find them....listenable.
11. The best album is "O God, The Aftermath" the rest is pretty sub-par.
15. Great Metal with some deep growling vocals. Awesome guitar-work too, my best choice on the list.
23. Pretty good ALT band, can easily say that it's the only real band of the genre that I could ever really get into.
but don't just listen to me, try the top song of each band, you can usually get a pretty good idea of their sound that way. |
