10.30.09 | Number 11 (Dozer) is awesome. So is 10 (Sleep) Holy Mountain. I thought Queens of The Stone Age came up with the "desert rock" thing to describe their band. I don't think any of these are "desert rock". I hate all these genres. Aren't all of these (or atleast Sleep) just known as stoner/doom metal? |
Douchebag

10.30.09 | To UpperDecker:
Fatso Jetson are also a desert rock which I highly recommend to you. You have the point though that the rest is stonerish.
To AnnerFrank:
I've heard Neil Fallon saying in one of the recent interviews that they are a stoner rock act so I won't argue with him. Still hard rock and blues are dominant tendencies in their music now. For example, Never Be Moved out of Robot Hive has a very stonerish feel to it.
I've already heard some albums by Monster Magnet, Bongzilla, Nebula and Slo Burn. Thanks for recs. I'll check out all the remaining bands soon.
