11.18.09 | Zune, the software is really cool looking and the zune player can beat any iPod any day of the week. |

11.18.09 | I've had creative zens all my life and even though they break a lot I am very satisfied with them |
Ire
11.18.09 | zune software is better for pc
Itunes for mac... is like sex with 22 year olds
Ipod is still better imo
my zune 30 has the battery life of 1 hour. |

11.18.09 | I'm telling you, you're going to want that 120 GB Zune. I've used both (actually used to rent iPod 80's from the TTU library before getting my own Zune), and I prefer the Zune to the iPod. I do, however, like iTunes over the Zune Software. |

11.18.09 | hmmm i'd say im leaning more towards another ipod right now |

11.18.09 | I've always had iPods, but after it was stolen I got my hands on an old Zune in a poker game. The Zune software is very flashy and aesthetically pleasing, but it's too much of a hassle compared to the iTunes software. I'd say stick with the iPod just because iTunes rapes Zune software. |

11.18.09 | zunes are so much better, i've owned two ipods both broke and two zunes. The zunes never broke although one was stolen.
I currently have 120 gb and i have yet to fill it up, plus the software is amazing. |
AnotherBrick
11.18.09 | hmmm now almost leaning towards zunes lol what is the software for zunes and are other programs compatible with them? |
AmericnZero02
11.18.09 | Definitely the 120gb Zune. I prefer both the zune player and software over itunes and the ipod. itunes does have a better music purchasing selection and has sales on music occasionally. |

11.18.09 | but i never buy music through itunes so i dont care too much about that lol |

11.18.09 | What are you guys doing that you're breaking iPods? I've abused the crap out of both my iPods (first one was a 4G Mini that I had for three years and it still worked fine, and now I have an 80G Classic) and I never broke either, no cases mind you. Never had any trouble with battery life, software, etc. Very few and infrequent glitches, and iTunes is simple and intuitive. Why bother with anything else? Also, iPods look sexy while Zunes look like they were outdated ten years ago. |

11.18.09 | I've had 2 iPods since early 2005, and I honestly can't imagine using anything else. |

11.18.09 | ^I agree
My ipod classic 4th gen broke three months ago. I've had it for 5 years. |

11.18.09 | 120 GB Zune right now is actually $250 or so nowadays brand new from Best Buy. Don't quote me. Google works wonders. |

11.18.09 | Why ask at all? You're obviously the biggest and newest dipshit on Sputnik. Congratulations. |

11.18.09 | The software is the zune 4.0 software, it's pretty much a flashy itunes software with a social account that displays your listens and you can add friends and a have a profile, similar to last.fm. Also the program runs off of really powerful algorithms that can actually dj a playlist for you, this is called smart dj and it is incredible.
I broke my ipods by listening to them, charging them and treating it like any 250 dollar investment. |

11.18.09 | and anotherbrick what do you mean by what programs are compatible, if you mean like video and music it's pretty much any program that will run on windows. |
AnotherBrick
11.18.09 | like itunes or windows media player or if you hvae to use the zuune program? |
Niceinvader
11.18.09 | windows media player is for sure, and itunes definitely isn't haha |

11.18.09 | Well if you have over 100gb of music, and won't settle for compromising with a smaller device, your only choice is the ipod classic or zune 120gb.
I have a massive amount of music too, but I just load my 32gb Zune HD with the shit I listen to the most and it suites me well.
The Zune HD is the most advanced PMP on the market right now, its the only 3rd generation device besides the iTouch. If you want the latest and greatest that is the one to get. Unparalled sound quality combined with a few neat perks. But if you really can't settle with less than a 120gb player then I guess that is out of the question.
I really don't understand why the software is so important, these things are made to be idiot proof, yet people still complain that its "hard" to sync their devices. If you aren't a retard, then either software will be fine.
Whatever you get make sure you get a good pair of headphones to go with it, the standard headphones that come with either device suck. Whats the point of having a shiny new $250 device when you're listening to music out of headphones that sound like shit. |
AnotherBrick
11.18.09 | what headphones would you get? |
Prophet178
11.18.09 | I'm a huge fan of Sennheiser products, so I would go with those. You can get the CX400's for as little as $30 and they will destroy the stock headphones. I would say stay under $100 because the margin of quality is very small between each model. |
ScorpionStan
11.18.09 | well if you absolutely have to have that much space on the player, then Zune & iPod are your only choices.
however: if you want the most reliable and best-sounding mp3 player out there? avoid both of these and get the Creative Zen ($180 on Amazon). i absolutely LOVE mine.
it's only 32 gigs BUT... it has an SD card slot, so your space is basically unlimited. and it's a flash player, so that means MASSIVE battery life...i get 14-16 hours. screen is nice and big, simple interface, great software, the works. i've dropped mine countless times on hard surfaces, still works like a charm. plus, the sound is way better than iPod or Zune, and it's got a customizable EQ.
seriously, i swear by the thing. you gotta check it out. |

11.19.09 | it sounds pretty damn sweet but im so tired of having to check/uncheck all my songs and keep removing other bands when i get something new which is why i want something over 100 gbs lol |
ScorpionStan
11.19.09 | well all you do then is just carry around a few SD cards in your pocket, and you're good...you wouldn't have to delete anything.
oh and btw i agree with Prophet, Sennheiser is the way to go...i have the EH150 and the HD555, both of which are amazing. also look into headphone amps, they improve the sound even further. |

11.19.09 | hmmm should be easy enough to remember, my name is in the brand lol ill look into them |

11.19.09 | i have a zune. i bought a 30gb for 100 bucks. damn good deal. this was like, a year and a half ago, and its still going strong. not even full yet! |

11.20.09 | Stear clear of skullcandys and most low end sony headphones. I personally love the zune premium headphones that you get if you customize your zune or order online. Those cost around $30 and have the best sound quality for that price, yet the headphones prophet mentioned sound really promising.
As for software, just fuck around with it. The whole software package is free and you can download it from the zune website. My advice try that out if you like it get a zune, you won't be dissappointed. |
