| 'C'-Section
I wanted to make a random-ass list of bands/artists from my collection, but I didn't want to just start with 'A'. So instead, I used the random number generator at Random.org to choose me a number between 1 and 26. It chose 3...therefore, you guys get every artist in my collection whose name begins with the letter 'C', and random-ass facts about random ass artists strewn about here and there. Huzzah. | 1 | Caesars
I have one single song by these guys: "Jerk It Out." But unlike most people, I discovered the song on SSX 3. Flying high above Peak 2's sunset with this song on for the win. | 2 | Cake | 3 | Candlebox | 4 | The Capitols | 5 | Carbon Leaf
Great indie/folk/bluegrass band, heard "Life Less Ordinary" in a playlist that came on Dell computers long ago (actually the same place I heard Nickel Creek, which is awesome). | 6 | The Cardigans | 7 | Carey Ott | 8 | Carl Douglas
And everybody was Kung-Fu Fighting (Hyah!) | 9 | Cary Brothers | 10 | Cash Cash | 11 | The Casualties | 12 | Catherine | 13 | Cave In | 14 | Cavil At Rest | 15 | Celldweller
Celldweller has become a favorite of mine when it comes to Industrial music. You hear his songs EVERYWHERE (if you ever saw Speed Racer, and it's completely understandable if you didn't, then you might recognize "Switchback"). | 16 | Chamillionaire
'Ultimate Victory', though dated, is amazing. | 17 | The Chariot | 18 | Chase Pagan | 19 | Cherry Poppin Daddies
"Zoot Suit Riot...(RIOT!)...throw back a bottle of beer..." | 20 | Chevelle
I saw them live earlier this year with Shinedown, right up at the front...but we were at the the spot where it seemed like every fucking douchebag who was surfing would end up. I don't mind crowdsurfers, I really don't, but when I have to duck every two minutes and can't even enjoy the band because I'm too busy looking back to see when the next one's coming, it makes me want to just smash a beer bottle on their heads as they pass by. But yeah...Chevelle's one of my favorite mainstream hard-rock bands. | 21 | Children 18:3
Saw them live earlier this year, as well. Never heard of them, but they put on an energetic show, so all's well. | 22 | Chimaira | 23 | Chronic Future
One single song by them, but "Time and Time Again" was, at one point, my favorite song ever. Still ain't bad...video's pretty cool, too (same person went on to do the video for Eminem's 'Mosh', and you can see part of this video in that one if you look close enough). | 24 | Chumbawumba
Used to have the c.d., but it was stolen before I ripped it to my computer. Oh, well...still have "Tubthumping," and really, that's all I need ;-) | 25 | Circa Survive
"Act Appalled" is one of those songs influential songs from my musical history. It opened the door to softer songs, and ones with high-pitched singers; without it, I probably wouldn't enjoy Mae as much as I do today. | 26 | Circle Jerks | 27 | Circus! Circus! | 28 | Cirrus
Trance. | 29 | The City Drive
Innocently fun pop-punk. | 30 | Cky
Quite bitter music. | 31 | Clark Country | 32 | Classic Case
They did a split with He Is Legend that I need to get my hands on someway or another. | 33 | The Classic Crime | 34 | Clemek | 35 | Cobra Starship | 36 | Coheed and Cambria
Probably get raped here for not having these guys in my collection. | 37 | Cold
As in "Stupid Girl" Cold. My favorite song by them is "Remedy," though. | 38 | Coldplay
I think I have more full album by these guys than any other artist in the 'C' section of my collection. 'X & Y' is terrible, 'Rush of Blood...' ain't bad, and 'Viva La Vida' is awesome, which apparently means I'm gay. Either way, I like the band, and I need 'Parachutes'. Heh heh...'C'-section...heh heh... | 39 | Colin Hay | 40 | Collective Soul | 41 | Collide | 42 | Common
I think it might be safe to say that Common is my favorite artist of all the ones that start with 'C'. I got 'Be' this year (or perhaps towards the end of last year), and I absolutely fell in love with it. 'Like Water For Chocolate' is equally amazing, and I plan on getting 'Resurrection' one day. | 43 | Conditions | 44 | Consumed
"Heavy Metal Winners" from THPS 2. | 45 | Converge
Fuck this band. Yeah, that's right, I said it: fuck Converge. The only reason I have a song by them ("Black Cloud") is because it was on the 'Punk-O-Rama 10' compilation. I don't mind the song "Jane Doe," but I really, REALLY don't understand the love they get. I just don't. Feel free to listen to this if you want, but it ain't for me. | 46 | Cool Hand Luke | 47 | Coolio
Find me a person who has never heard "Gangsta's Paradise," and I'll see a person who was in a coma from 1993 through the year 2000. "1-2-3-4 (Sumpin' New)" is also a fun listen. | 48 | Copeland | 49 | Corey Crowder | 50 | Counting Crows | 51 | The Coup
The most politically-minded rap group I've ever heard, and as a fan of Epitaph Records and Public Enemy, I've heard a lot of them. | 52 | The Cranberries | 53 | Crash Romeo | 54 | Crazy Town
Go ahead and crucify me for this one, but they're on here purely for 90's nostalgia. | 55 | Creed
See above...except not so much 90's as it was High School. | 56 | Crime In Stereo
A staple for my various punk playlists. | 57 | The Crucified | 58 | Cutting Crew
"I! I just died in your arms tonight! It must've been something you said..." | 59 | Cynic
Thank you, Sputnik. | 60 | Daft Punk
Shit...ran out of 'C's. Oh, well...Daft Punk would be the very first artist for 'D'. They're awesome; I have more albums by these guys than any artist in the 'C''s, so yeah. Good stuff. | |

11.19.09 | Really, I just wanted to make a list, is all. I'm bored, have not much to do, and haven't made a list in a long time. Oh, well.
Feel free to tell me who I'm missing from the 'C''s (as if you needed an invitation...). | SlightlyEpic

11.19.09 | I GET KNOCKED DOWN! | Masochist
11.19.09 | City of Caterpillar...well, they're not my thing. Neither is Circle Takes The Square, which I know will be brought up at some point or another.
Cursive, on the other hand...I definitely plan on adding them at some point. Same with Closure in Moscow. And maybe Cog...maybe. | Masochist
11.19.09 | BUT I GET UP AGAIN! | EVedder27
11.19.09 | haha that brings me back. That song was everywhere when I was in like 3rd grade I think. | Inveigh
11.19.09 | No Carcass???
Man, I really need to check out Cynic. | cvlts
11.19.09 | not a big metal listener are you masochist? | Masochist
11.19.09 | This Life Is Genocide - I've got a lot of bands like Dream Theater, Iron Maiden, Opeth, Cynic, In Flames, Metallica, Nightwish, etc., quite a few metalcore and "Screamo" bands, some Post-Metal bands, some other random bands (Edge of Sanity, Dimmu Borgir, 3 Inches of Blood) and pretty much all the ones from Solid State, but don't ask me anything about, say...Cryptopsy, Carcass, Cradle of Filth, Necrophagist, Katatonia, Meshuggah, Veil of Maya, Decrepit Birth or any bands like that, because chances are I won't know.
So to answer your question, I do listen to metal a lot, and have material from a slew of metal bands, but metal doesn't take a huge percentage of my musical collection, and compared to some of my friends or most of the people here on Sputnik, I might as well listen to none at all ;-). | LareBear
11.19.09 | Exact same way I discovered 1 :) | cvlts
11.19.09 | ...i stand corrected lol | thebhoy
11.19.09 | Cranberries ftw.
ZOOT SUIT RIOT | AnotherBrick
11.19.09 | i totally agree with your description for 45 | erasedcitizen
11.20.09 | That wasn't really a description at all, more like a straightforward insult with no substance. | Masochist
11.20.09 | LOL...here's your substance: I don't enjoy the music they play.
No further explanation needed. |
