Ulver Ranked
One of the most diverse sounding bands ever ranked. |
1 | | Ulver Bergtatt
The first black metal album I'd ever heard and it's still my favorite. Garm's voice is perfect, in fact the whole thing is perfect. One of the best albums I've ever heard. |
2 | | Ulver Perdition City
This may surprise some for being so high but I love the electronic side of Ulver and this is their best of that era. It really is just a great electronic album done right. |
3 | | Ulver Kveldssanger
Their folk album is superbly done and is very beautiful. Garm's voice is really the highlight here though from his deep singing to his beautiful angelic voice. |
4 | | Ulver Shadows of the Sun
Great relaxing album. A little more boring than all the others so far but I put this on when I go to bed quite a bit. It's got this calming mood to it that I love. |
5 | | Ulver Nattens Madrigal
I know a lot are going to disagree with this being so low but I just can't get past the production. Trust me I'm not picky when it comes to production but this is borderline unbearable which is too bad because the music (particularly the guitar playing) is phenomenal. If this was just a tiny bit better production wise this would be #2. |
6 | | Ulver Blood Inside
Another interesting electronic album that finally shows them bringing back some guitars and real drums. Not the best, but not the worst. |
7 | | Ulver Svidd Neger
Pretty good, not something I put on too much though. |
8 | | Ulver Metamorphosis EP |
9 | | Ulver A Quick Fix of Melancholy EP |
10 | | Ulver Themes from William Blake's The Marriage of Hea...
I guess I just don't get this one. I recognize the amount of work and thought that went into this but there's just too much pointless ambiance for my liking. Maybe if I understood the concept better I would enjoy it more but if they would of cut off some of the fat there's actually some decent music here, you just have to wade your way through a lot of nothing to get to it. |
