| Overlooked? (pt 2)
An extension to my previous list. These albums needs moar love guys...not just from sputnik though, as some of these are probably pretty popular here, i dunno. Also, recs are welcome. | 1 | | Propagandhi Less Talk, More Rock
I only ever hear people going on about either Supporting Caste or How to Clean Everything. This is really good too, but hardly ever gets mentioned. | 2 | | Artillery By Inheritance | 3 | | Witchery Restless & Dead
Awesome fun thrash. | 4 | | Big Black Songs About Fucking
I admit, I also never heard of these guys before...so props to Meatplow for dropping these guys in one of my lists. | 5 | | Biohazard Urban Discipline
Ahh nostalgia. These guys were meant to be huge, but i dont know anyone who's heard of these guys, except for my bro. | 6 | | Bloody Panda Summon
Fucking scary sludge. Imagine really slow, sludgy riffs, with eerie, choir-like keyboards. The female shrieks are also frightening as well. | 7 | | Capricorns River, Bear Your Bones
Awesome instrumental sludge. Highly reccomended. | 8 | | Discharge Hear Nothing, See Nothing, Say Nothing
Ok, i'm gonna assume most of you know of this album, but most of the 'punks' I know claim to have never heard of these guys. Lolwut? | 9 | | Dream Death Journey into Mystery
Thrash Metal with doomy elements? Doom Metal with thrashy elements? I dont know, but either way, it's solid | 10 | | Forbidden Forbidden Evil
I dont know if Rob Flynn was in this or not, but this is really awesome Thrash. | 11 | | Hammers of Misfortune The Locust Years
Pretty eclectic style of metal | 12 | | Youth of Today Break Down the Walls
Cool straight-edge punx | 13 | | Manilla Road Atlanis Rising | 14 | | Mihai Edrisch L?un san l?autre
French screamo...so it's probably well-known here. Tbh, i'd be stupid if i expected a lot of people outside of sputnik or similar music sites to recognise these guys. Still solid though | 15 | | Misfits American Psycho
Gets a lot of undeserved hate. Michale Graves is a great vocalist imo, plus, the album has some sweet tracks. | 16 | | The Obsessed Lunar Womb
One of many Wino's side projects. One of my favourites within the traditional doom genre. | 17 | | Trouble Psalm 9
Doom with a vocalist that reminds me of Axl Rose. Even though that sounds terrible, strangely it works. | 18 | | Rasputina Oh Perilous World
So awesome. Hard to describe this band, but it's basically rock music with cellos. | 19 | | Samhain November-Coming-Fire | 20 | | Taksim Trio Taksim Trio
In love with this album. | 21 | | Shelter Mantra
Harekrishna-core! | 22 | | Neon Neon Stainless Style | 23 | | Therion Secret of the Runes
Or any of their albums tbh. Their whole discog is pretty impressive and underappreciated (on this site) | 24 | | Tristania Beyond the Veil
Probably the only symphnonic metal (except Therion) you'll ever need. | 25 | | Melvins Bullhead | 26 | | Mouth of the Architect Quietly | 27 | | My Brightest Diamond Bring Me the Workhorse
You guys may recognise her from that one track on the Decemberist album, Hazards of Love. | 28 | | Sacrifice Soldiers of Misfortune | 29 | | Tomahawk Mit Gas
Mike Patton | 30 | | Estatic Fear A Sombre Dance
Ive just realised my comment on Tristania is kinda false... | 31 | | Kashiwa Daisuke Program Music I
I am literally unable to describe this music. | 32 | | Hellsongs Hymns in the Key of 666
Indie/Folk covers of classic Metal songs | 33 | | Augury Concealed | 34 | | Damad Burning Cold | 35 | | Hooded Menace Fulfill the Curse
Waay better than that shitty Acid Witch | |
Buccaneer
02.07.10 | stupid album art | Relinquished
02.07.10 | I don't think 25 and 26 are that overlooked. | AliW1993
02.07.10 | ive been meaning to check out 4 for years | Phantom
02.07.10 | Closing comments made you wonder
What was the start of it all
Hunting to find the answers
Unavailing attempts to be me
Hey
Did we distract you
Did we prevent you
Did we bore you
Did we stop you
And I'm
Betrayed by you
Won't be overlooked by you
Betrayed
Betrayed
Hoped you were thinking of redemption
Found out you erased the memories
Erased the thought of me
How can I believe this untrue
I know I'm not insane
Come take a look in my eyes
35 is awes | jrowa001
02.07.10 | 1, 2, 6, 10, 14, 17, 18, 24, 27, 33, 35 are excellent. Trouble are a christian band btw | bloc
02.07.10 | 33 is beast, but I like the newer one more. | Masochist
02.07.10 | Checking out 33 right now simply because of its album art. I like the operatic/female vocals. Makes things interesting. | Buccaneer
02.07.10 | Yeah, the only reason i've included Bullhead was because it didnt have a decent review on this site. And also, by 'overlooked', im not trying to say that these albums are completely ignored, just that they deserve more attention....well, most of these do. | clairvoyant
02.07.10 | exalt for 15 | Zoo
02.07.10 | The Tristania comment is ridiculous. It seems you haven't really heard any good symphonic metal besides Therion. | Buccaneer
02.07.10 | You're probably right man. I cant say im a huge symphonic metal expert, but out of the one's ive heard, only a few clicked with me. Although, the one's ive heard that i dislike are the mainstream cheesy ones, stuff like Delain, Nightwish (I like some of their stuff), Epica, Leaves Eyes etc. Some recs? | Zoo
02.08.10 | Carach Angren - Lammendam (their new one should be leaking too sometime soon as the promo has already been distributed).
Haggard - Awaking the Centuries

Mirrorthrone - Carriers of Dust
Emperor - Anthems
Melechesh - Emissaries
Grand Alchemist - Intervening Coma Celebration
Transcending Bizarre? - The Serpent's Manifolds

02.08.10 | discharge is awesome | Buccaneer
02.08.10 | Oh wow, most of those recs are albums that ive been meaning to check out. Awesome. Also ive got Butchers Ballroom, but considered it to be Avant-Garde...also, didnt really dig it tbh. Thanks for the recs though dude, I appreciate it. |
