Yazz_Flute
03.16.10 | So i've decided this album is quite awesome. |
WatchItExplode
03.16.10 | ugh, I'm starting to slip in my vow to wait for physical release of this |
Yazz_Flute
03.16.10 | It's gonna be a long month if you do that...I enjoy this way more than both good apollo albums. It doesn't have any absolute standouts like "Everything Evil," "In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth:3," or "The Willing Well" but it doesn't have any filler either. And the title track is just...powerful. |
Yazz_Flute
03.16.10 | goddamnit, I guess when you edit a list reverse order is canceled =/ |
Prophet178
03.16.10 | Whats the point in waiting, its gonna be the same album a month from now. |
Ire
03.16.10 | is it odd that i can get into this easily and not SSTB |
Yazz_Flute
03.16.10 | SSTB took me a few listens before I fully appreciated it, probably because of how thin the production is. I wouldn't say it's that odd though, even though this is probably Coheed' least instantly catchy album. |
hando
03.16.10 | i think the second half of the album is so perfect. the first doesnt flow as well. Guns into HWAJ feels kinda weird. idk |
Acre
03.16.10 | Apparently I'm the only one who actually doesn't think Guns of Summer is that great. |
Yazz_Flute
03.16.10 | The second half is marginally stronger. The only transition that seemed awkward to me is This Shattered Symphony into World of Lines. |
ninjuice
03.16.10 | I still find SSTB overrated tbh, the guitar parts on all the others are better and the screams annoy the heck out of me.
If just one listen is worth anything, the title track on this is the worst. Pennie's both good and bad for this album; now the whole band are good at their instruments, but some of the electronic stuff doesn't work. |
FeralMemories
03.16.10 | I listened to this album, and for a long time I thought coheed were so overrated. Guess I was wrong, cause I like them now. -_- haha |
Yazz_Flute
03.16.10 | well the title track isn't conventional for Coheed at all so I can understand how one wouldn't be into it...but it's so goddamn powerful. |
Romulus
03.16.10 | Solid 3.5 for me probably but I love Claudio's vox on Pearl of the Stars |
hando
03.16.10 | ninjuice still doesnt like sstb :( |
ninjuice
03.16.10 | I gave it a 3.5. I like it but prefer the two after it. |
Yazz_Flute
03.16.10 | SSTB has like 7 classic songs. |
hando
03.16.10 | i guess the guitars are too simple |
Yazz_Flute
03.17.10 | IF IT WAS UP TO ME
I WOULD HAVE FIGURED YOU OUT
WAY BEFOOOORE THE YEAR CLOCKED OUT
OH I HOPE YOU'RE WAITING |
paxman
03.17.10 | Here We Are Juggernaut is currently my favorite track.
And is it me, or does it sound like there are other vocalists in Pearl of the Stars? The verses don't sound like Claudio to me, but of course he's never actually sung like that before. |
hando
03.17.10 | i was thinking it was travis, but something about the vocals remind of claudio so idk |
Yazz_Flute
03.17.10 | Even though it's about 8 octaves lower than Claudio's regular singing voice i'm pretty sure it's him. It's definitely not Travis. |
WatchItExplode
03.17.10 | Claudio will sound like Barry White in a few albums the way he smokes |
ninjuice
03.17.10 | Are there any confirmed plans for what they'll do now that the series is over? Just keep playing under a different name? |
Acre
03.17.10 | The verses on Pearl are probably Claudio, but when I first heard it I thought it was Mic. If it was, I would blow like 15 loads. |
Yazz_Flute
03.17.10 | So I think I'd move Made Out of Nothing up a bunch of spots...probably to 4. And I'd move Juggernaut down so it's between Pearl of the Stars and The Broken. Idk though all of those first 8 songs here are so good. |
TMobotron
03.18.10 | Almost 100% sure it's Claud.
Also IDK about you guys but I thought One was one of the best intros ever. Sets such a dark and epic mood. |
Killler9
03.18.10 | I can't wait to buy this, I want the whole discog in vinyl, that'd be cool. |
Yazz_Flute
03.18.10 | One is awesome for an intro yeah. |
