03.17.10 | They all rule, by the way. |
Prophet178
03.17.10 | 4 is pretty detached from anything the band has done in the past I would say. I think Feels is a good culmination of everything AC has done, past and future.
I think I would pick Battle Begun for RX, just because that album still had the horns. It was progressive rock, but still had that tiny bit of ska left in it.
The rest are pretty spot on though. |
sniper
03.17.10 | I ALMOST put Feels, but I like MPP a bit better, so I put that. Other bands (Radiohead) have albums that I thought were better, but these are a culmination of their sound for me. |
Athom
03.17.10 | hahahaha the only problem is that 1, 3, 7, and 15 all kinda suck (even if the bands rule) |
jimmyisjonny
03.17.10 | 12 should obviously be OK Computer.
It's fine if you prefer In Rainbows... But come on. OK Computer defines Radiohead. |
jesusjuice1179
03.17.10 | they're all fantastic, but tbh Thrice hasn't made an album that sounds remotely like Vheissu, so you can't really say it epitomizes them cuz each album is pretty different from the others |
sniper
03.17.10 | 100% disagree with you about 1 and 3 redsky, but I can see what you mean about 7 and 15. Still though, the point wasn't really to pick their best album. |
sniper
03.17.10 | Vheissu falls under the "brought band the previously unseen heights" category, and OK Computer might be how people will always remember Radiohead, but In Rainbows sums up their sound very, very well imo. |
Motiv3
03.17.10 | i agree with 2 so hard. |
ninjuice
03.18.10 | "Thrice hasn't made an album that sounds remotely like Vheissu, so you can't really say it epitomizes them cuz each album is pretty different from the others"
Exactly.
I'm pretty sure 1 sounds different from every one of their previous albums.
Underoath changed a bit even before TOCS. |
BallsToTheWall
03.18.10 | These are all such magnum opuses. |
Uranium
03.18.10 | Seriously 12 SHOULD be Ok computer. If you listen to the cd before OC, which is The Bends there is an immense shift. Radiohead stuck with it for the most part from there. Kid A was the epitomy of their more electro music. |
deliberately
03.22.10 | i've been thinking about checking out thrice, should i? |
TheSpirit
03.22.10 | 1 is certainly not there definitive sound. |
mmfarva
03.22.10 | 15 is the shit. Also love 2, 7, 9, and 13. |
mmfarva
03.22.10 | @deliberately - Definitely check out Veisshu. |
deliberately
03.22.10 | ok, i will check that out |
DoubtGin
03.22.10 | this more looks like ur favourite albums by each band, but most of these rule anyways |
sniper
03.22.10 | Nah, at least five of these bands have released something I like better. |
tiesthatbind
03.22.10 | @deliberately: I strongly recommend checking out Vheissu. |
imnotthere420
03.22.10 | ditto about ok computer. kid a would also be acceptable |
henryjohnson
02.10.11 | I can agree with this |
wyankeif1337
02.10.11 | pretty sweet list |
icaughtfire1992
02.10.11 | 1 is the best punk album ever |
mmfarva
02.10.11 | Holy bump. Damn, didn't realize I've been a member this long. |
acorncheese
02.10.11 | Can't agree with 13 at all. |
pizzamachine
02.10.11 | Leave. |

02.10.11 | "ugh acorncheese

Aids
02.10.11 | great great list, really accurate too. I've only heard 1 2 4 5 6 7 8 11 12 13 14 and agree that they really epitomize the sound of their respective groups |
sniper
02.10.11 | list is almost a year old but i still agree with almost all these picks. |
acorncheese
02.10.11 | I'd choose Pirates for Minus and The Resignation for RXB. |
sniper
02.10.11 | If i was gonna change an album or two i'd change the rxb album to ...and the battle, and the daughters album to hell songs, but that's it. |
qwe3
02.10.11 | how does ok computer not epitomize radiohead |
Acanthus
02.10.11 | Agree with 16 wholeheartedly. |
qwe3
02.10.11 | well yeah i mean it's pretty hard to find one, but in terms of influence, general consensus etc ok computer is probably what people will remember most about them
except for maybe fucking creep ugh |
sniper
02.10.11 | yeah but in rainbows comes the closest to covering their whole spectrum of sounds in one album. i wasn't just picking what's generally seen as their best album, that would be a stupid fucking list wouldn't it? |
sniper
02.10.11 | i'm fucking right. okay?
okay. |
qwe3
02.10.11 | the epitome of their career is their genre-defining one, not one that happens to have heaps of different songs.
if you ask someone what they think of radiohead they'll mention ok computer |
sniper
02.10.11 | obviously my criteria for albums to make this list are different than the way everyone else is thinking about this. i meant for these albums to be representative of these bands' sounds boiled down into one definitive album. |
qwe3
02.10.11 | fair nuff agreedisagree bro man dude |
acorncheese
02.10.11 | BUT DUDE

SaneTBP
12.15.12 | Um 12 is fucking weird pick. Would be interesting to know why do you think it defines the band |
Relinquished
12.15.12 | too bad you'll never know |
SaneTBP
12.15.12 | nvm I read the thread |
sniper
