Fav. Guitar Songs
These are my favorite songs to play on guitar currently. Though they change ALL the time. This is what I have in mind at this time. The list may seem scattered and random. There are too many songs to list! I love playing different styles of guitar. And it is quite obvious I love classic rock 'n roll and a whole lotta AC/DC (nothing wrong with that eh?) I do play lots of System Of A Down as well as other new bands material. There's just way too much I'd like to say, but I'm going to hold back on it. I play music old and new of different styles. THIS LIST IS IN NO PARTICULAR ORDER! |
1 | Creed One Last Breath
Just love the song. Not a huge fan of the "new age" rock bands. But I like Creed. Though they're no longer together. This song is an excellent finger-picking song, great to sing with, and just has an amazing melody. Though this is a song you hear all the time, it's fun to play. |
2 | Georgia Satellites Keep Your Hands To Yourself
The only song I've heard from this band. First time I heard it, I just knew I'd have to play it. Very fun at a decent speed. Not much difficulty during the soloing but plenty of room to add anything. It's got almost a spead-up blues feeling to it. But is often played on country radio stations haha. |
3 | Pink Floyd Wish You Were Here
This is a calm, and mellow song. Simply very beautiful and another song you can easily sing along to. |
4 | AC/DC Bad Boy Boogie
Now this song is purely an awesome Rock 'n Roll song to play! Spead-up song with catchy guitar riffs. Can sound perfect with proper dymanic and feeling. Soloing is the best part about it. Spead-Up blues style (like most AC/DC material). |
5 | The Jack (Live)
Now this song is one that many people find boring...well if you're a guitar player, you might find this one very fun to play. I personally like the live version of this song better, not the studio version. This song expresses lots of their blues influence. I love playing this song because it's so easy to play ith a group of people even for a warm-up before a gig. The soloing blows my mind and makes even my pubic hair rise. I highly recommend this live song if you're a guitar player. |
6 | Whole Lotta Rosie
Forgot a very FUN song to play! Fast song with fret-ripping solo, spead-up blues style (always love that). |
7 | Down Payment Blues
From one of their underdog albums which I have to say is one of their very BEST albums! This song is fairly easy to play and get the hang of. Its playing it with a band that can be tricky and making it sound right. Gotta love the solo! |
8 | Riff Raff
Probably the most fastest & most fun AC/DC song of them all for me at this point. Listen to it...you'll see what I mean! |
9 | Metallica Nothing Else Matters
Another excellent track from Metallica. The solo is amzing, the finger-picking is amazing, which makes this song amazing to play! |
10 | Enter Sandman
Well, probably the first Metallica song anyone ever learns. Great song. Nuff said. |
11 | Master Of Puppets
Now we get faster, harder, and with more distorted guitar. Very fun to play once you get timing right. |
12 | Iron Maiden 2 Minutes To Midnight
This song isn't easy. Lots of Iron Maiden's songs aren't easy to figure out. Fast song, genius guitar riff. Just awesome. |
13 | Can I Play With Madness
More Iron Maiden. I likey?.Need I say more? |
14 | Eric Clapton Wonderful Tonight
You know if you can play this song very well, this proves you're a good musician. Not just trying to be a rockstar and trying to play anything you can whenever you can. This song (the way I play it) needs gentle fingers and striking the chords in a gentle manner. Slow song, but a great piece of music. |
15 | Unknown Canon in D
"Where the hell did this song come from?!" I bet you're wondering. Well this is one of the first songs I ever taught myself. This is a great example of how awesome classical music can be played. Great for finger-picking and practicing changing chords at a decent speed. |
16 | Led Zeppelin Over The Hills And Far Away
Love the acoustic guitar action! ANother classic form Zeppelin with plenty of variety and is very creative. |
17 | Stairway To Heaven
Yeah yeah yeah. Probably one of the most over-rated songs by Led Zeppelin but what can I say? It's a beautiful song to play on the guitar. Love Jimmy Page! |
18 | Queen Now I'm Here
Listen to it. It's Queen! This song is a gem! |
19 | Styx Miss America
Not sure why, but this song is actually extremely catchy in terms of guitar work! The solo is nothing special, but fits in perfectly with the song. |
20 | Rod Stewart Hot Legs
Blues based song. Just love it. In the recording they actually had three different guitars going. This song never gets old when you're with a group of guitarists playin' this track. |
