Top 5 Bands That Decided To Stop Being Awesome And Start Sucking Ass Butter

This is a list of bands that were awesome in the past, but for reasons unknown decided to start sucking gorilla balls.
5At The Gates
Slaughter of the Soul

The Gothenburg band gained critical and commercial acclaim with "Slaughter of the Soul." What's the next logical step after creating a "Landmark" album? Why, quit the band, of course! Inspiring Dave Chappelle even before he was famous, the Björler brothers formed "The Haunted" after leaving At the Gates. The Haunted is a Groove / Melodeath band, and a pretty lame one at that.
4In Flames
Reroute to Remain

At least At the Gates quit while they were ahead. After deciding to drastically change their musical style toward an alternative metal sound, the band pissed off thousands of metal fans as quickly as the guy who thought it'd be a good idea to put Bring Me the Horizon on Megadeth's Gigantour bill. Though they tried to blend the old with the new with "A Sense of Purpose", it's nowhere near as good as their older stuff.
3Guns N' Roses
Chinese Democracy

Guns N' Roses were good, but because Axl Rose is a douche, and all the band members did too many drugs, Velvet Revolver has more Guns N' Roses members than the original band. Not much of a fan of this band, but I couldn't think of another band that fit this spot.
2Metallica
Load

Load of Diarrhea. Some people have said Metallica's "Load" isn't a bad album, but people weren't expecting a metal band to produce a hard rock/blues album. I haven't listened to the whole album, but it can't be as good as their first four. There's no denying that.
1Sepultura
Roots

The kings of Thrash shot themselves in the foot with this one. While Chaos AD was a drastic step in the Groove direction, their change to Alternative Metal was akin to an elephant falling down a flight of stairs into a China shop right as a volcano erupted inside the store: it wasn't good. Everything about this album licked my ass, and when a band that gave the world an aural orgasm with "Beneath the Remains" decides to take their guitars and flush them down the toilet, it makes me want to not buy anything after "Arise." The band died after Max Cavalera left, they just didn't know it.
