04.18.10 | Mastodon - Remission
Got The Reissue On Purple Vinyl and the remission artwork is awesome already.
Mastodon - Crack The Skye
The Vinyl for this one is cool as hell it looks like some form of exploding star is the only way to describe it.
Wolves In The Throne Room - Malevolent Grain
The artwork is different from the one posted on this website. It's also got their new logo on fully done in gold leaf. They also do a picture disc version (Don't know if it's still in press though :-s)
Not much else from me really only just started my journey into vinyl a couple of months ago and don't really have alot of money. so it's just the occasional one here and there for me :( |

04.18.10 | What the fuck is so special about people and their fucking vinyl collections? Can someone please explain. No offense to anyone but I just don't get it. |
theacademy
04.18.10 | for an explanation of the sound, ask prophet, he knows this stuff.
i just want to buy TDaG because i do not have a physical copy, and the releases are extremely nice (aesthetically). I would like to display it in my apartment as my one and only record. It is easily my favorite album art of all time, which also plays into this decision. I will pay up to but no more than 35 dollars for it. |
Ire
04.18.10 | That's right you just don't get it.
buy a record player. If you can stumble into a local record store with 50 bucks in your pocket and not get a boner the minute you walk in then you can complain. |

04.18.10 | I get the whole it's bigger, prettier (probably) and great to show off but who would that be, your parents? I like listening to music and I have a large CD collection but very few people get to see it anyways and for how much vinyls are... |
theacademy
04.18.10 | i don't live at home but i lol'd. my mom would call me a pussy for listening to brand new. |
Ire
04.18.10 | Well I listen to records with a couple friends.
I don't really show them off. I get them for myself and rarely ever show the tbh. |
JWT155
04.18.10 | I guess if it's something you enjoy though it's cool. I don't have a record player and even if I did, me buying them would just end up them being somewhere collecting dust. |
theacademy
04.18.10 | also, as someone who loves music, im considering framing it for the office. framed vinyl albums look very nice. my dad has a bunch of record players but even if he brought one to me, i dont think id have time to listen. i listen to the album so much in mp3 form anyway... |

04.19.10 | Depending on your preferences in music, vinyl is your only option for some bands.
The hardcore scene is very big on vinyls (my personal reason for getting a vinyl player), and because of this, many EPs are released only on 7" vinyl. Also, because the scene is so obsessed with vinyls, vinyls are pretty cheap, sometimes costing even less that a CD version.
But even if they're available for cheaper in other formats, vinyls are still very cool collector's pieces. The album art is large, the vinyls are often time colored and there's more room for lyrics and pictures in the insert.
Lastly, some people just prefer the sound of vinyls over other format.
Seriously, if you like collecting music, you owe it to yourself to check out vinyls. They're cool.

04.19.10 | I have Opeth's discography on vinyl and 4 on see-through blue. Would be great to have Crimson I and II. |
