The Dear Hunter, Porcupine Tree, & Coheed And Cambria

I saw The Dear Hunter, Porcupine Tree, and Coheed and Cambria last night. They all put on a great show. Except for some of the Coheed fans badmouthing Porcupine Tree. I swear, I was this close to a confrontation with the moron next to me. During instrumental sections or long intros, he'd yell "WHAT IS THIS?!" and between two songs, he started yelling for them to get off the stage. I contented myself with trying to drown him out- I think I even scored a smile from the guitarist after my particularly amusing drown-out statement "STAY ON STAGE, PLAY A MILLION SONGS". Anywho....
1The Dear Hunter
Act III: Life and Death

Incredibly spot on performance, they really knew what they were doing. Sometimes support acts don't quite have the presence of a headliner, or the professional atmosphere. I think they did. I'm only sad they didn't play "The Tank". I had had trouble getting into them, really, before this show, only select songs. But it was good.
2Porcupine Tree
The Incident

Wow. Great show, great lighting, great projection show... The guitarist was clearly having a good time. And Wilson was a very cool presence. I think I'm more of a fan after this. They fit in a lot of songs, had to abridge some of them, but they did it cleverly. AND, they played "Russia on Ice". I didn't see that coming.
3Coheed and Cambria
Year of The Black Rainbow

And a night of good shows is topped off with... a good show, of course. Didn't play everything I wanted them to, but that would be impossible. I got "The Crowing" and "Delirium Trigger", so I was happy. It was good to see them have fun on stage, also, they would grin at each other, etc. Glad I finally saw them, I've wanted to for years.
