10.18.10 | Yeah, a much-needed win, fo sho |
Electric City
10.18.10 | i mean jealousy's understandable considering this is like the only time they've been good ever in my life that's okay we strongly dislike you too |
awhiteguy
10.18.10 | "i mean jealousy's understandable considering this is like the only time they've been good ever in my life that's okay we strongly dislike you too"
It's not jealousy. It's the fact that you have the most un-professional coach that continues to spout his mouth off about being the best.
You haven't been to a Super Bowl in 43 years. Shut up until you have. |
SD(TheGreatDestroyer)Inc
10.18.10 | I'd rather not talk about the Rams game, luckily the other teams inthe AFC west were sh*t too
Gates=key |
BigHans
10.18.10 | Yeah EC you proably weren't around for the Ken O Brien/Freeman McNeil/Al Toon/Mark Gastineau glory years. Christ Im old. |
Electric City
10.18.10 | well we do have the best record in football i dont see your gripe |
awhiteguy
10.18.10 | Regular season record doesn't mean anything. I mean, look at the Chargers. They've had one of the best records in football in the regular season for the past 6-8 years, and they haven't won a damn thing. |
SD(TheGreatDestroyer)Inc
10.18.10 | Chargers are the No.1 defence AND offence, worst special teams
2-4 is so lame |
Electric City
10.18.10 | okay. jets still are 5-1 though
so what's your team white guy? |
Yeahtoast
10.18.10 | 22222222222222 |
SD(TheGreatDestroyer)Inc
10.18.10 | You can't win the SB with LT doing everything for you, he'll burn out soon and the Jets will be average at best with no passing attack at all |
awhiteguy
10.18.10 | I'm a Dolphins fan, dude, but I'm trying to speak from an objective point of view.
Plus, there are a few one-loss teams in the NFL. What makes you think you're the best? |
awhiteguy
10.18.10 | Shawn greene hasn't done anything yet, and if Revis can't get that hammy healthy, sooner or later Cromartie's gonna screw ya(he always did in SD). |
awhiteguy
10.18.10 | "the steelers are the best team in the nfl right now"
That's what I was thinking. If you can go 3-1 without your starting QB and 3 different backups starting for you over those four games, you're obviously better than everyone else. |
BigHans
10.18.10 | The Steelers are easily the best team in football. |
Electric City
10.18.10 | oh youre a dolphins fan makes sense. hows that home sunday night loss taste? and third place?
and the jets have won 5/6 games. that's the highest winning percentage. the other 1 loss teams are 4/5 |
SD(TheGreatDestroyer)Inc
10.18.10 | steelers will take some beating thats for sure
if polomalu is still healthy... |
awhiteguy
10.18.10 | Exactly, so what are you judging it off of? A 5-1 start? What happened the last time you guys had a 5-1 start? Oh, that's right, you didn't make the playoffs! |
snerefedsav
10.18.10 | steelers are probably the best. too bad i don't like em, and hate their fans, and don't really watch football in general. it's all about the raiders. |
zarquan99
10.18.10 | if you want more dream theater then get Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence and Metropolis pt. 2. Those two are the best imo, but Awake and BCaSL are also worth checking out |
Emim
10.18.10 | lol @ anyone taking football seriously.
Stevie Wonder - Innervisions
Happy music. |
awhiteguy
10.18.10 | I'm not speaking from a Dolphins-fan point of view. I'm speaking from a NFL-fan point of view. The Steelers have been the most dominant team in the NFL this year and only lost 1 out of the 4 games they played without Rothlisburger(or however the fuck you spell his fucked up, rapist name). What's that tell you? You have all of your integral parts in place in NY the whole year(except Revis, but he isn't your QB), and you go 5-1. The Steelers are missing their most important piece, and they go 3-1 without him and then win the first one with him back at the helm.
But hey, if we're crowning Super Bowl champs right now, it's obviously the Jets, right? I mean, Sexy Rexy says so! |
SD(TheGreatDestroyer)Inc
10.18.10 | back to the recs... |
Electric City
10.18.10 | "What happened the last time you guys had a 5-1 start? Oh, that's right, you didn't make the playoffs!"
yes we did...
anyway week 15 is jets @ steelers, we'll see then |
awhiteguy
10.18.10 | You're right, I apologize. I was thinking you guys had that fast start the year Favre was there, but you didn't. Either way, everyone was saying they were the best team mid-way through the year that year, and they didn't even make the playoffs. |
theacademy
10.18.10 | god i love sports because i can finally agree with adam downer about something |
theacademy
10.18.10 | i'll be honest there are really only 4 teams that can win the superbowl, they're all in the AFC, and three of them have shitty quarterbacks (flacco, roethlisberger, sanchez). If its not those 3 or the pats, then maybe MAYBE the packers get their shit together and win it...
the NFL is so hilariously unbalanced this year...
|
awhiteguy
10.18.10 | It's the weirdest season of football in a long time. It's the first time a team has failed to reach 4-0 in about 35-40 years, from what I heard(can't remember the exact year) |
theacademy
10.18.10 | the giants could barely beat the lions with their third string QB. the lions who gave them 7 tries every time they made it to the red zone because of bullshit penalties... |
SD(TheGreatDestroyer)Inc
10.18.10 | SB tips Cowboys/Packers are in deep trouble ,
heck the rams might even win their division
love it |
awhiteguy
10.18.10 | Thanks Josh.
Cowboys and Packers are done(in Super Bowl-terms, at least). So much for a NFC Championship game dream match-up. |
Hawks
10.18.10 | Fuck the Jets. The Steelers are taking it all this year. Although I do love Revis because he's from around my hometown. Western PA ftw! |
theacademy
10.18.10 | "our defensive front looks as good as our super bowl"
tbh the only way you guys seem to be stopping teams is knocking quarterback's out cuz you sure as shit can't stop the pass |
BigHans
10.18.10 | lol saying Roethlisberger is a shitty QB |
awhiteguy
10.18.10 | Yeah, the Giant's can't keep this up. Sooner or later coaches are going to develop zone blocking schemes and nullifying any pass rush the G-Men had. When that happens, the dream is over, because tha secondary is about as porous as the cartilage in Paris Hilton's nose. |
awhiteguy
10.18.10 | ^Chambered, stop showing your ass. |
awhiteguy
10.18.10 | Shitty QB's don't win 2 Super Bowls. |
awhiteguy
10.18.10 | Right, but not two of them. Name one average QB who's won multiple Super Bowls. |
awhiteguy
10.18.10 | "look at this year they were a hair away from going 4-0 without him"
And that's just a testament to how good he is. If he played in that 4th game, they would have been 4-0. |
SD(TheGreatDestroyer)Inc
10.18.10 | the steelers D makes him look great, he's decent but he has nothing on manning/brady/rivers/brees |
Hawks
10.18.10 | Ben definitely isn't overrated, if anything he's underrated. He's the best at avoiding pressure and not taking sacks and he's strong as fuck. The difference in the offense is unbelievable when he plays. |
awhiteguy
10.18.10 | "I can only think of average QB's with one: Brad Johnson, Trent Dilfer, etc"
Exactly my point. Thank you.
"no thats a testament to how good the steelers are"
It's both, dude. They'd be undefeated right now if he played those 4 games, but they aren't. |
awhiteguy
10.18.10 | Plus, for that defense to be so good, they have to have an offense that keeps them off the field. With Ben, the Steelers have that. |
awhiteguy
10.18.10 | Average QB's don't have a career QB rating of 92. |
awhiteguy
10.18.10 | Jim McMahon was a pretty good, albeit just above average, QB that won 1.
Mark Rypien only won one as well. |
Hawks
10.18.10 | He's definitely top 5.
Manning
Brees
Brady
Roethlisberger
Rivers |
awhiteguy
10.18.10 | My Top 5 QB's(Not just this year, keep in mind):
1. Peyton Manning
2. Aaron Rodgers
3. Tom Brady
4. Ben Roethlisberger(2 Rings makes you elite)
5. Brett Favre(god that makes me sick) |
awhiteguy
10.18.10 | Not this year he hasn't, but over his two years starting prior to this one the guy showed he could be an elite QB. If he doesn't turn it around this year, though, he'll start to slip out of the top 5. |
awhiteguy
10.18.10 | 3 years ago it would have been different, chambered. Unfortunately, since he blew his knee out, he's slipped a bit in my eyes. |
Hawks
10.18.10 | Aaron Rodgers would come after Rivers for me. Even though the Chargers suck and I hate Philip Rivers, he's still really good. |
awhiteguy
10.18.10 | Plus, Randy Moss can make any QB look good, unless that QB plays for Oakland. |
awhiteguy
10.18.10 | "brady won all his super bowls without randy moss!"
Right, and how long ago were all those Super Bowls? |
Hawks
10.18.10 | I'm so sick of always hearing about the Patriots. We all know Tom Brady is good and everything, but their defense really isn't that good anymore and their offense is definitely going to suffer without Moss. They're not even close to being the team that they were when they won the Super Bowl and they can't even compete with teams like the Steelers, Ravens, Colts, Jets, or even Miami IMO. |
awhiteguy
10.18.10 | I never said he wasn't good. Lol, he's still a great QB, but since his knee injury, he hasn't been the same. |
SD(TheGreatDestroyer)Inc
10.18.10 | Patriots @ Chargers next week, we'll see
I've given up on predicting chargers games now, useless |
Hawks
10.18.10 | I don't think they're better than the Ravens. Yeah they beat them yesterday, but overall I think the Ravens are better. They have a better defense and Flacco is getting up there in terms of elite NFL quarterbacks. |
Labeasy
10.18.10 | don't hate the player hate the game |
