My Favorite Albums Ever

The 5 best albums I own.
1Dark Tranquillity
The Gallery

Albums of this magnitude rarely ever come along. It just so happens I bought this without really thinking it to be much, and it grew on me. After countless listens I appreciate and understand every song on here, and nothing is out of place or feels like filler. One of the few perfect albums ever made.
2Heaven Shall Burn
Antigone

This was actually my very first Death Metal-ish CD (I used to listen to hard rock and nu-metal *shiver*). Anyway, this CD is just plain heavy. It doesn't give you a chance to breathe. The songs are so crushing and performed with the utmost intensity and meaning, by the albums close it left me speechless.
3Agalloch
The Mantle

For some, Agalloch is an acquired taste. Some may not even call it metal at all, but if I had to describe it I would say its a sort of folk/doom/black metal CD, like a combination of Ensiferum, Woods of Ypres, and a little bit of Opeth (mainly for their progressive sound). But this CD is their crowning achievement, with songs like "In the Shadow of our Pale Companion" and "The Hawthorne Passage" being amazingly haunting and gloomy, transporting you to another place indeed.
4Into Eternity
Buried In Oblivion

Also another band which reached their peaks here, Into Eternity hit the nail on the head with this CD. It is extremely catchy and fast, with a few songs even hitting epic (such as the duo of "Buried In Oblivion" and "Black Sea Of Agony"). Awesome vocals and acoustic work give this a whole other feel from what many are used to.
5Kalmah
Swampsong

From the moment this CD opens with the legendary awesomeness of "Heroes To Us" to the amazing closer "Moon Of My Nights" Kalmah are at their prime here, evolving from the ultra-fast keyboard/guitar duos of "They Will Return" and "Swamplord" to a more melodic death route, and further separating themselves from the fans who say they are simply Children Of Bodom clones (which they are most definitely NOT, this CD is awesome in all senses of the word.
